I wish i read all these reviews before going there. The people and the place is full of scammers, rude, foul people. They will say anything to get you to buy and will try and trick you with a great price, which will go up. They will talk to you - try to distract you from what you are doing - and slip the new HIGHER price in the paperwork. You will spend at least 2-3 hours haggling with them. PLEASE don't go - these people need to be reported and place closed. Horrible experience!!! More
This is the WORST experience ever with a dealership for a new car. I was attracted at the beginning because I was offered a good price over the phone. During my first visit, I realized although the sale pric new car. I was attracted at the beginning because I was offered a good price over the phone. During my first visit, I realized although the sale price for the car is good, they have all kinds of "fee" - admin fee, doc fee, car wash fee (excuse me? wash a new car?) Those fees can easily add up to ~$700. Still, at that moment, I admit the OTD price is the best I can get. Since I plan to trade in my old car, we didn't sign any agreement. Here comes the disappointing part. One week later, I planned to settle the deal. I called the salespeople one day before, and explicitly asked if the price changes? I got a clear answer - the previous price is OK but cannot be further lowered. Even one hour before I go, I called the dealership to confirm if they were still open. Meanwhile, I asked again if the price would be honored. I still got a confirmative YES. However, when I got there, I was told they cannot honor that price because all incentive bonuses from VW are used up. I even have a quote in writing from the last visit, but this time the manager didn't recognize their own letterhead paper, and said it was not signed. I did check online the reviews related to this dealership. Most of them are negative, and the overall rating is way below average. The mistake I made is to trust the number they gave and disregard so many real reviews. Finally, I just ended up wasting two weeks. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. If you read my review and still want to give them a try. All I can say is good luck. More
I traded in my Nissan last year for a Tiguan and was told that Open Road would take care of the remaining lease on my car and I was free and clear of the vehicle. (My fault for not getting it in writing!!!) that Open Road would take care of the remaining lease on my car and I was free and clear of the vehicle. (My fault for not getting it in writing!!!) Not to mention that I put down $5000K on the Tiguan which I was told would go to paying off my previous car. I was running my credit today, I found out they only partially paid off the Nissan and my account is in collections and my credit score has lowered by 100 points. I have moved in the last year and never received any bills. I called Open Road and neither the salesperson or manager that worked the deal is there (how convenient). I feel totally taken advantage of and feel they really robbed me on this transaction. More
This was the worst experience I have ever had with a dealership. Do yourself a favor and go to the VW dealership in Queens. They are so much more friendly and knowledgeable about VW vehicles. First, the dealership. Do yourself a favor and go to the VW dealership in Queens. They are so much more friendly and knowledgeable about VW vehicles. First, the sales associate lied to me several times. After agreeing on a price and getting ready to sign paperwork, he started adding hidden fees. I am not talking about taxes, dealership, registration, or any other legitimate fees. I am talking about fees that are only intended to raise the ultimate price of the vehicle in the event that the sales associate feels that he is not making as much on the car as he should. Our entire negotiation on the car price was over about $1,000. We met each other half way and shook on it. But as I sat to sign papers, I saw how he was trying to make up for the deal we just had by slapping on an "admin fee", a fee for a car wash and detail (excuse me? I am buying a new car! it better be clean!), a fee for dealership expenses, a fee for x, y, and z, and he conveniently added up all the hidden fees to the exact same amount he had wanted in the first place before we had agreed on a price. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry because of a new job and needed a car so even though I was close to walking out, I stayed but voiced my displeasure and asked him several times, point blank, what the total cost of the vehicle was going to be, including "Dealership Administrative Fees". He gave me the total amount and then said because of the late hour (it was after closing), he would not be able to bring the car from the dealership's offsite but he assured me it would be ready the next day. I told him I must have the vehicle the next day because of my new job. The next day, he never called me like he promised. I left him messages on his cell phone and he never called me back. I physically went back to the dealership around noon and asked him where was my car. He said he didn't get around to getting it for me. I asked him if he could do so immediately and he said he didn't want to bother because it would take up all of his time and there were other customers he wanted to see. I asked him to please have someone else go pick up my car and he said he would lose his bonus if he did that. I demanded to speak with the dealership manager and the manager told me I shouldn't even be complaining since I was getting a good price on my car! I told them that I was starting a job and because of them, I now will have to rent a car. The manager offered to pay for my rental vehicle because they supposedly did not have any loaner cars available. He assured me that all I had to do was bring in the car rental receipts but that my car would be available the next day. I came in the next day and my car was still not available! Again, they told me to come back the next day! This continued for FIVE DAYS! All the while I had to rent a car. After five days, my car was finally brought to the location but the manager refused to pay for any of my rental costs! He said I was getting a good deal on my car and there was no way they were going to reimburse any of my rental costs even though he had promised to do so! When I went to fill out financing paperwork, I discovered the actual total cost of the car was another $600 more than what the sales associate had written down. This dealership is unprofessional and the staff are not there to help you or assist you. GO ELSEWHERE! After this experience, I went to VW in Queens to compare the service and it was night and day. I came here because my original dealership had closed down a few years ago. I came to get my 2007 Jetta repaired and decided to inquire about a trade in. The service department was very pleasant to work down a few years ago. I came to get my 2007 Jetta repaired and decided to inquire about a trade in. The service department was very pleasant to work with (Oraine Graham) and the sales department was equally as nice. I am one of those customers who will cause a scene if I feel like I'm being treated badly but these folks here were really very nice and professional. Even the ladies at the front desk and who answer the phone are very pleasant people. This is what I have come to expect from VW and this is why I did not think twice about buying another VW. So, I can honestly say that VW Manhattan changes what people think about car dealerships. Their showroom is beautiful and they have a nice area to relax in. I will be back in a few years to buy another car and will be here to write an updated review but judging from my recent experience, it appears that VW knows how to run their shop properly with the customer always being first. It's just like shopping in Macy's. I am happy to see some companies who operate a business in this country are "getting it". Everyone wants to leave a business establishment happy and VW did just that. More
