Overall I had an exceptional experience. Great crew and very friendly. There was a mixup at their other dealership in Garden Grove, where they went to pick up my car. We reluctantly returned to this dealer after a negative experience we had when we purchased our 2009 Cube from them. The salesman that sold us the car at that time seemed knowledgable, friendly enough and experience we had when we purchased our 2009 Cube from them. The salesman that sold us the car at that time seemed knowledgable, friendly enough and honestly, we had no complaint with him. His sales manager was another story. There is no nice way to say this; he was a joke. Seriously, the kind of guy that gives all the great car salesmen out there a bad name. Bottom line, we had done our homework and finally, we drove away with the deal we came for. Because that sales manager and his "sales tactics" had left us with such an unpleasant memory, we went to two other Nissan dealers this past weekend in search of a mini van. Unfortunately they didn't have exactly what we were looking for. As a last resort we called OC Nissan Irvine and "Lee" answered the phone. He was pleasant enough on the phone, but lied about having what we were looking for. When we arrived and realized we had been misled, we decided to go ahead and go for a test drive anyway. Lee not only knew less about the Quest than we did, he was somewhat rude. Alrighty then. We chalked it up to the possibility that maybe he was new (or having a bad day?) and since we actually liked the van that he had shown us, we headed back into the showroom with him to talk "numbers". We were then introduced to his manager. For the record, this was a different sales manager than the guy we dealt with in 2009. He seemed friendly enough and although they didn't have what we were looking for on the lot, he made an attempt to check with other dealers in California. No luck there but he did come up with a potential solution for us. We asked for a minute to talk things over and stepped out to our car. We hadn't been sitting in the car for a full minute when Lee showed up at the driver's window to "negotiate". When my husband told him we just needed a minute, he began raising his voice and saying "look, I'm just trying to get you what you want and him (referring to his sales manager) what he wants". He asked "what would it take for you to buy the car". When my husband told him what we had been offered on the very same vehicle at the other local Nissan dealers, Lee began raising his voice and became argumentative once again. We explained that if they couldn't come close to that then no hard feelings, but we would obviously return to one of the dealers that could. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal to us, just common sense ($5,000 worth of common sense). Lee became angry and basically called my husband a liar. By this time our two year old was beginning to become upset by Lee's raised voice so my husband proceeded to get out of the car and tell him that he needed to learn how to talk to customers and that we wouldn't be returning. As we started to drive away Lee stood on the sidewalk laughing. Well Mr. Lee, your attitude sent us back to another dealer, where we proceeded to buy a $40,000 van 3 hours later. OC Nissan Irvine, it is obvious from reading other reviews that you have some good employees. Unfortunately you have a few bad apples in the bunch and this one was too rotten for us. More
We just bought a new Altima and Tony was our sales person and we had the best experienc. He was honest and patient. He explained well and worked with us. They really wanted to sell. They were thorough in explaining the operation of my Leaf. We got through the paperwork fairly quickly, and didn't feel pressured to get something I didn't want. The dealership was great from the first contact via the phone. Gary was the first one I spoke to on the phone. Very friendly and helpful. We felt appreciated for being there. There was a third salesman who also was very friendly that took us on the test drive. He was very welcoming as well. He didn't have a card to give me otherwise I'd mention his name. I'm bad with names. The price of the vehicle was great. Didn't feel like had to shop for the best deal. What I really appreciated is the efforts in making you feel like they really care - from the car buying process to the services they offer and follow up they will do AFTER you purchase a car. Many times, once a purchase is made, you are out the door and no other investment in customer care is made. While I was standing outside waiting for my car to come from being fueled up and washed, I was approached by other employees congratulating me and discussing with me what should happen throughout the ownership of my new car. Nice job Nissan of Irvine. You made me feel like family. You have made a customer for as long as I will be looking for a new car and I will recommend you to family and friends. Thank you very much.
