I have purchased three vehicles from this dealership since 2010. The sales department is wonderful. Danny Maynor, in internet sales, helped me with the paperwork and was very knowledgable. They worked with me in finding numbers that I could manage and the lowest interest rate possible. Overall, the guys made sure I was taken care of and I left a happy owner of a new car. More

I have never ever been treated so well when looking to purchase a vehicle. Dean, Tam, Cindy and Lee worked so hard to get me into a car that not only did my husband and I buy a Jetta for myself, but we al purchase a vehicle. Dean, Tam, Cindy and Lee worked so hard to get me into a car that not only did my husband and I buy a Jetta for myself, but we also bought a CC on the same visit for my husband. We were treated so well that we brought in a friend who bought a Jetta, our niece who bought a Jetta and then our daughter who also bought a Jetta. All of which were handled by Dean, Tam, Cindy and Lee. I will not hesitate to bring anyone I know that is looking to purchase a vehicle to McKenna Volkswagen for the best deals and service. More

My wife, son and I are from San Diego and were in town for my son's baseball tournament. My wife and son were in a car accident in her 2005 vw beetle and the car was totaled. We had been shopping for an for my son's baseball tournament. My wife and son were in a car accident in her 2005 vw beetle and the car was totaled. We had been shopping for another used bug and luck would have it McKenna VW had the car listed that we wanted to look at. We stopped in after a morning of baseball we were in the mood to look at some cars. We were promptly greeted by Martin Ortiz. The used bug were interested in had been sold so my wife wanted to show me the new re-styled beetle. Both my wife and 12 year old son loved the car and Martin could sense it..we took one for a drive, he plugged my iPhone played some of my favorite songs through the great Fender sound system and the hook was set. We got back the the dealership and we were introduced to Kelly Wilson. Kelly and I stated to get to know each other and share a love for motorcycles. We spoke about the car In between talking about bikes, next thing you know we had an agreement and were a few documents away from a new car. Both Martin and Kelly made the buying experience so very smooth, they showed concern for my family and kept the selling pace brisk but not rushed. We had the deal done and were introduced to Cindy Kim in finance. She is a doll. She had my wife in stitches and was the cherry on top of a great afternoon. We love our new bug and I recommend going to see these folks We dealt with. Straight forward no BS, customer satisfaction. This is one satisfied family. Thank you Martin, Kelly and Cindy The Bergman's More

I recently leased a CC from McKenna VW in HB and had the best experience ever! I've bought and/or leased over 30 vehicles in my life with good and bad experiences. But these guys made me feel like I was par best experience ever! I've bought and/or leased over 30 vehicles in my life with good and bad experiences. But these guys made me feel like I was part of a family. Dean was the most no-nonsense guy I've ever dealt with. No BS. And I know many General Managers from other dealers, but Tam is not cut from that same cloth. He made it a point to make my wife and kids comfortable while we waited to do our paperwork. After seeing other reviews from people on here that I'm sure had other issues, but seem like life-long complainers, I felt compelled to put a positive review here. This dealership is where you want to go to buy or lease a vehicle! More
I received a flier in the mail saying that McKenna Motors in Huntington Beach offers to assist customers that has credit problems. The flier seems catchy and I spoke to Barry and with a pleasant voice, he sai in Huntington Beach offers to assist customers that has credit problems. The flier seems catchy and I spoke to Barry and with a pleasant voice, he said "Come down and I would love to help you get a car". Jan. 28, 2012 - I went over McKenna Motors in Huntington Beach hoping to purchase a car. I laid all my cards, from losing my job last year 2011,filed for bankruptcy, got my bk discharge notice, working at a hotel in San Franciso since January of this year as an independent contractor, partnered with Hospitality Taskforce which issued my paycheck bi-monthly, showed proofs, printed recent opened bank statements etc. Paulo Avila, Finance Manager, showed me the screen that says I am approved by a bank. He confirmed with me if I have all the necessary documents and I said, as far as I know, yes! Sounds so promising! He congratulated me and gave me advice to get rid of the car I am driving (a Saturn Vue). I left the dealership with 2010 Volkswagen Jetta. **McKenna Motors is aware that I am currently working in San Francisco and I come home every other weekend. **I got a call from the dealership and they are requesting for more documents such as W2s. I emailed Paulo Avila, Finance Manager my 2009 Tax return and promised him that I will be flying home that weekend and will hand-deliver the rest of the documents at the dealership. And he said that is fine. **The bank that is financing the car contacted me for an interview and verification. They also congratulated me and gave me all their information, what my monthly payment will be and the due date. **Early that week I emailed Paulo Avila to go ahead and deposit the down payment check of $1,500.00. I had to use my boyfriend's check since McKenna didn't accept the temporary check that my new bank issued to me. I told them I need to transfer the funds from my bank to his bank. **It's not even a week that I have the car, my boyfriend already noticed that something is wrong with the car when you are driving it in the freeway. I decided to wait for the weekend to have it checked when I come home for the weekend from San Francisco. Feb. 4, 2012 - I hand delivered to Barry the remainder of the documents requested. I mentioned about the condition of the car. I can tell that he is surprised knowing that they sold a car that is in bad condition. Unfortunately, Service Dept. is closed on Sundays and he told me to call the following morning. Feb. 5, 2012 - I called Service Dept. to schedule for service. If you were in my shoe, would you be upset knowing that you bought a car and after a week it's already being repaired? They scheduled it for Wednesday, 2/7, 2012. Feb. 7, 2012 - My boyfriend brought the car in. First of all, Raul from the Service Department was surprised and also kind of embarrassed to find out that we just got the car and already servicing it. My boyfriend told him and it was noted that he is hoping to drive my car to San Francisco that weekend, 2/10/2012. Raul said it should be done the next day 2/8/2012.Raul gave him a loaner car. Feb. 8, 2012 - My boyfried called the Service Dept. and spoke with Raul and he told him that the problem of the car is more than just the alignment. He needs to replace 3 tires, ordered some parts etc. It sounded major repairs to me. Knowing that my boyfriend is driving to San Francisco, Raul said that it will take 3-5 days to get the parts, and that is okay to keep the loaner car. **We have the loaner car from Feb. 7-18. And during that time, we did not get a call from Raul in Service Dept if the car is being fixed. Feb. 13, 2012 - Mailed a cashier's check of $1500.00 address to McKenna Motors in replaced of my boyfriend's check when I initially put the down payment. Feb. 16, 2012 - Barry called to let me know that the car is ready to be picked up, and that I need to re-sign the sales contract. For whatever reason? It wasn't explained to me but I thought this should be better because I didn't have the car physically and I am already scheduled to pay my first car payment Feb. 28, 2012. It's just good to start fresh I thought. Feb. 18, 2012 - I turned in the loaner car in exchange of my newly purchased car I thought. After spending for over an hour with Barry, and after asking for more documents, printed my recent bank statement and that finally he said everything should be set now and just waiting for the GM to give him the file and I am ready to sign. In the meantime he said to go to the Service Dept. and get my car key. I never met Raul but I guessed that was Raul since he is familiar with the ordeal I am dealing with. But he was surprised to see me. He said that the car is not ready and asked who called me? Apparently, the people that works in this dealership has no communication or so whatever. He said that car wont be ready after Tuesday, 2/21. The machine that does the alignment is not working or it is broken, and Monday, 2/20 being a holiday, he can't do it after then. So I went back to Barry and told him exactly what the guy in the Service Dept had told me. He left me wondering what is going on. And once again, he was shocked to find out that car is not ready for me. I saw him went to Tam, the GM after going to the Service Dept. Then GM got up, went back to his office, Barry followed, the Service Dept guy followed and they had a closed door at his office. I can tell just looking at them that GM is furious and he is yelling at him on top of his lungs. And I was just sitting there and thinking I am spending so much of my time here already. I am a very patient and understanding person. At that time, all I need is to leave the place because I have a commitment to attend to. Even with a loaner car! And these are what really made me so mad at these people in this dealership. First, Barry came back to me and said that they will fix the car and I can pick it up Tuesday, 2/21, 2012 but the GM decided not to give me a loaner car. And I asked why, it's not my fault that I can't take my car with me. I challenged them when I said, that I can't even believe that they sold me a car that is not drivable and the least thing that they can do for me is to give me a loaner car and they are doing this for me as a good customer service and a solution to the inconvenience of this ordeal. Then Barry asked the GM for the loaner car, then he came back and said that reason why I can't have a loaner car because I abused it the first loaner car because first of all they didn't know that the loaner car is in San Francisco and it was the GPS tracking device that reported it. It is hard to believe that they didn't know. We didn't hide it. In fact an employee contacted me Friday, 2/10/2012 and made me aware that the loaner car is equipped with tracking device and needs to slow down in the freeway. He confirmed with me that he knows that car is in San Francisco. And never in that conversation is mentioned that the car is not supposed to be outside Orange County. Keeping in mind of what he said about the tracking device, I was conscious with my speed. Then I realized, if it is only my car that I am driving then I don't have to worry about the device and just worry about Highway Patrol. Second, after giving me that excuse of not able to give me a loaner car for that reason, Barry came back to me and said that GM doesn't think that the bank will approve my loan and the deal is canceled! They are forgetting that Paulo Avila, Finance Manager showed me that I got approved, and the bank already called me, congratulated me and gave me my payment information. I understand it was pending until all the documents are received AND they received all the documents needed. If there are more that they needed from me I can always provide them. The GM refused to talk to me. So I waited, and waited, and waited. And I can tell that they just don't know what to do for me... because the fact that they sold a car to me that is in BAD condition, took it home with me is unexplainable!!! I asked several times to talk to the GM but they are passing me around. And they want to do it right this time they said. Then they turned me over to Paulo Avila, Finance Manager. And convinced me to sign a document that is stating that the first transaction is void and invalid. At first I refused to sign but he said that it doesn't matter if I sign it or not but he will try his best to give this car to me on Tuesday, 2/21/2012/. I took his word because he seem like a good guy I think. I took his advice to get rid of my old car in the first place so I guessed I could trust him again this time. Barry or the GM doesn't even have the decency to give me a ride home. I spent 5 hours at this place and left with no car. I feel humiliated and harassed at this place. These people just looking at me outside the street by the sidewalk waiting for a cab is uncalled for. Feb. 21, 2012 - I was hoping for the best. I told myself even with my bad experience with McKenna Motors, I rather just deal with them in purchasing my car since I already started the process and I know that I have been approved by the bank. Today, I was just waiting for them to call me and let me know that I can come down and re-sign the contract and pick up the car because it's been fixed. Although I have a second thought with this car knowing that it wasnt in good condition but I will take one step at a time. Paulo Avila promised me that he will be calling me as soon as possible to let me know. But I am not getting the phone call so I called. And I can tell he is not happy to hear from me and he sound irritated that I called. He said that they sold 52 cars over the weekend. So I guess that means to me that I am the last in line so I just have to wait? I told him straightforward that I need to know my options. If McKenna Motors can not work this out today with me, then I need them to mail me my $1500 so I can use it somewhere else for down payment. He told me that I will hear from him later that day. It was another guy named Kimo that called me and he said that he is just relaying a message from the GM, Tam Nguyen, that they are not able to sell me a car. I asked to talk to him but he doesn't want to take my call. I have always been in Sales and one thing I learned from this experience is that McKenna Motors in Huntington Beach, CA don't believe that "HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY". This may sound funny to you all because in Sales, there's no such thing. The Sales Manager Barry did a good job in selling the car to me. I feel his honesty, knowing that as a Sales Manager myself, he convinced me. But the policy applies to the product. In this experience, McKenna Motors in Huntington Beach, CA is selling bad cars, and that is a fact!!! I just wish that someday they will encounter a customer that has the money and power to teach these following people, Paulo, Barry and most especially Tam Nguyen a lesson! Or maybe the company or the owner of McKenna Motors can send them to some kind of Customer Service Training! They are a bad representation of the company! Lastly, to all the dealerships, please don't mislead people in your advertisement. If you are encouraging people with bad credit or not so good credit to buy cars from you and you can't keep that promise of helping them get a car, that I think is the meanest thing to do. Especially knowing that they are in that situation, don't pretend that you don't know their financial status and just keep on going and waste their time. Today is February 21, 2012 - I am waiting for my $1500.00 I sent in Cashier's check, so I need it in a Cashier's check form as well. Thank you. More
