This was the worst display of service I have ever experienced. My appointment was not honored, communication was poor, and it took 7 hours for an oil change. It took Lithia Ford service department experienced. My appointment was not honored, communication was poor, and it took 7 hours for an oil change. It took Lithia Ford service department over seven (7) hours for a simple oil change and tire rotation. Jamie Hall, Lithia Ford Service Advisor, knew I would be waiting on site for a simple 30-minute job. The truck was dropped off at 8:42am with a 9:00 am appt. The truck was still in the service bay at 10:30. My truck was returned to me at 3:22 pm. Jamie Hall laughed when I told him I had a 9:00am appointment and went on to explained that having an appointment did not matter. In addition, Jamie Hall asserted, "What do you think, there would be a service rack just waiting for you at 9:00 am? " Any reasonable person would expect the dealership to honor the commitment and agreement to meet when the appointment is made. Jamie Hall was absolutely no help as he approached me only three time during this seven (7) hour ordeal, to inform me he did not know why the truck was not ready but he was “looking into it.” I’m told the oil was changed; however, I’m not confident the Lithia Ford service department actually used the synthetic oil per the agreement. Jamie Hall at first stated I did not pay for synthetic. I insisted Jamie bring up the contract, on his computer, and I had the original in my hand to verify I did purchase the synthetic. I can verify the tires were rotated. The back-driver tire was low on pressure, 5 psi. The back-driver tire was rotated to the front driver. I could see the front drive tire was now 5psi lower than the other tires. The receipt I received listed “Set tires to specifications” four (4) times; this obviously was not done. Additional work (recall) was performed on the truck without my permission or authorization. This was Jamie Hall’s excuse for the “excessive wait”. I felt that I was held hostage. I expected a 30-minute appointment to change the oil. Instead, I was left without a way to leave, 105 degrees outside, no water, no food or means to understand exactly what was happening and when my truck would be returned, as the service department ignored me when I requested answers for when the truck would be returned. I ask for Keith Miller each time I make an appointment because he is always friendly and professional and explains everything that is needed and completed. I usually wait for my vehicle. Took my truck in for frozen door handle recall. They told me they don’t do that until it breaks. Told them I have a second home in the mountains. They then told me ok. After 8 hours they told me the ran out me they don’t do that until it breaks. Told them I have a second home in the mountains. They then told me ok. I would like service staff to be more realistic in timelines. I almost always need my vehicle ASAP. Are all service stalls able to perform basic essential services?. A simple oil/filter change and ti timelines. I almost always need my vehicle ASAP. Are all service stalls able to perform basic essential services?. A simple oil/filter change and tire rotation should not require 4 hours, even on a busy day. Disappointing to say the least. As I am going to be looking to purchase a new vehicle next spring a HuGE criteria will be service center speed and precision. Am not retired and can’t give away multiple hours for simple service items. More
