Poor responsiveness, and it appears that my aftermarket warranty was a gimmick. I purchased a 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia from Lindsay Lexus, and there were problems from the beginning. None of my tires had cap warranty was a gimmick. I purchased a 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia from Lindsay Lexus, and there were problems from the beginning. None of my tires had caps on them, and when driving off the dealer lot to my home in the winter, I only realized this when warning lights flashed at me that my tire pressure was very low on all four tires. That didn’t inspire too much confidence. Additionally, while looking under the hood one day after a month of purchase, there was a plastic cover to something just laying around. It looked like maybe a mechanic had been working and perhaps forgot to return the cover to something (it had a plus minus symbol on it, which made me feel that it might be somewhat important). The biggest issue though has been the 6 month extended warranty. Alfa Romeo’s are known to have some challenges under the hood, so I was extra precautious to address any issue the car might have in the 6 month window of time to ensure I hadn’t purchased a lemon — since a dealership that cares about the customers they service should be less concerned with the sale, and more with customer satisfaction and providing a quality product (at least that’s what I had hoped). Instead, what I found out was that the “extended warranty” that Lindsay Lexus had provided me was never even submitted. This news was delivered to me while I was at the Alfa Romeo dealership addressing an issue under the hood by the extended warranty company. When I called Lindsay Lexus, I spoke with Jessica in the finance department who told me the Director of Finance would give me a call back by noon. Noon came and went… *I’m still at the dealership. I call the director proactively, and he tells me he’ll look into it and get back to me by 5 pm that day, and asks if that “sounds fair”. I guess he’s doing me a favor?! I never received the call back, and it’s seeming like I won’t. It is now nearly a week later. I guess they’d rather dodge me until the extended warranty that they never submitted ends so that they can say “too late, it’s all your problem now”. What great business ethic. I won’t be doing business here again, and I encourage you not to either. Sometimes it comes down to the integrity of the people working in these companies, and what I’ve experienced is that they are more concerned with selling you a product, stuffing their pockets and leaving the customer out to dry when they should instead offer support and take accountability. Never again. Please take your business elsewhere if you want to know for sure that you are dealing with good people. The experience is just important as the product you purchase, if not more. Do better. More
