I had a terrible experience with this dealership. I started looking for a 2023 Traverse in late August. They did not have one on the lot with the options I wanted, and were not willing to even disc I started looking for a 2023 Traverse in late August. They did not have one on the lot with the options I wanted, and were not willing to even discuss ordering one. They proceeded to call me back several times, and pretend they new nothing about what options I wanted. Eventually I unloaded on some poor person asking why they could not look me up to see what vehicle/option I wanted, and to stop calling for me to come in until they had a vehicle on the lot that met my requirements. (I knew they didn't because I was watching the inventory only). When A vehilcle finally did arrive, they did not call me, but I saw it only, an surprisingly, it was priced (online) at about 2500 below sticker. I went in, expressed my interest, and tool a test drive. This was my third trip to the dealership in about six weeks. When I returned, we started to talk price. After signing something saying I was serious about buying a car, they did the usual song and dance, and came back with an out-the-door price more than $10k over the sticker, which is funny because tax and tags on that vehicle are less than $2k. When I saw the proposal, there was a "mandatory" paint protection package, mandatory markup because I was not financing at the dealership, a second freight charge, and several other unacceptable and ridiculous charges. Even the fees for VA tags/title were inflated by more than $400. My salesperson Ingrid went back to the sales desk to lodge my disapproval, and came back with a sales manager who was not willing to negotiate on ANY of it. HE even proceeded to tell me that he could not provide a break down of the costs in the VA tags/title line. If you are going to use this dealership, you better know what the price of your vehicle should be, the cost of the tax/title/tags, and what is (or is not) a mandatory fee. I find it interesting that Lindsay tried to claim the paint protection was mandated by Chevy, but the dealership that sold me the car last week (and did not play ANY of these games) did not require it. I acknowledge that in this environment, there is little room to negotiate, but I also expect a dealership to be honest and up from with its customers. Lindsay Chevy's tactics are dishonest and unethical, and I am glad they did not make any profit from me. I will also note that I do not put the blame for this behavior on my salesperson. More
