I am updating this review: Thank you to Anthony Landi, the service manager who did the right thing and responded to me and fixed my vehicle at no charge. I just got it back today. He was very pleasant to the service manager who did the right thing and responded to me and fixed my vehicle at no charge. I just got it back today. He was very pleasant to work with and did what he said he would do. He kept his word. I am leaving the rest of the review though, because it happened and people should know. Food for thought: All this negativity could have been avoided if I was just told the truth in the 1st place. If you don't have your word you have nothing. I am pasting in the email I sent to the GM and owner of this dealership describing my experience.. I want to relay to you what happened to me at your Arlington Lexus dealership. On March 8, 2022 I went in to your dealership to see a used Toyota Minivan. I'll skip the part how I was pulled over by the police when I was test driving it because it had no plates. Later when I was discussing purchasing it with your salesman I expressed concern about the timing belt because I know that they should be changed at 90,000 miles on these vehicles ( this one had 142,000) and most people don't have it done. I didn't want to buy a vehicle that I would have to put more money into before I could drive it. That is a very costly repair and if the belt breaks it ruins your engine. Your used car department manager, Hanson, was called in and said they would check it to make sure that it was okay. Your salesman escorted me to the service bay where a tech showed me the serpentine belt & told me it was the timing belt. I didn't think it was right so I asked him if he was sure it was the timing belt and he said yes. Back in the salesman's office I checked with my mechanic and then knew he lied to me. I told your salesman that he lied to me and that wasn't the timing belt. Your salesman went to check it out. He came back and admitted it wasn't the right belt but that he got a different tech to check the timing belt and it was okay. I was apprehensive but purchased the vehicle after he put in writing (please see attached) that the belt was replaced. Yesterday (3/16/22) I had my mechanic check the belt because I didn't trust what I was told and the belt had never been replaced. It has cracks in it and is in bad shape, I could have lost my engine if it broke and now I can't drive the vehicle. I called your dealership 3/16/22 and left a message with a manger. Your salesman called me and said Hanson would call me today 3/17/22. Hanson called me this morning and I relayed the story again and how I had to miss work because I don't want to risk ruining my engine. I expressed how angry I was and that I need to know what they were going to do about it right away because I need to go to work tomorrow. I need a vehicle. Hanson promised he would call me at 12:30 after he had a meeting with the GM. By 2:30 I hadn't heard from him so I called and got his voicemail. I left a message for him to please let me know what was going on. No response. I then left a message on your manager's voicemail and got no response. By 5:00 pm with no one getting back to me I filled out the survey you sent me. Instantly Hanson called me and told me since I gave a bad review he couldn't help me and hung up the phone on me. Is this how your dealership does business? If I was buying a Lexus and wasn't a woman would I have been treated this way? Are either of you going to do anything about this situation or will you just ghost me as well? To say that I am shocked, angry, and totally dismayed is an understatement. I paid you $8000 for a vehicle I can't drive because you lied to me. I really hope you do the right thing and I would be glad to alter my survey with the solution that you come up with to rectify this. I appreciate your quick attention to this matter. More
