I went to buy a Volvo XC 70 in 2009. They advertised the price of the car at $16,900. Bruce was a jerk from the moment I got there. He was loud and obnoxious. We went to sit down and he immediately tacked o price of the car at $16,900. Bruce was a jerk from the moment I got there. He was loud and obnoxious. We went to sit down and he immediately tacked on 2,000 to the advertised sale price. He said that Volvo required him to spend $1500 in order to sell the car. What he ultimately was doing was violating The other dealers franchise agreements. All they care about is the deal, or how they want to make the deal. A second employee told me it was the inspection. The general manager is rude and obnoxious also. If you go there to buy a car make sure you bring a lot of toilet paper, so the salesman can wipe his mouth when he speaks. Avoid at all costs. They try to pass themselves off as a high end car dealer, but are a bunch of sleazebags. More
I visited Koons Ford after contacting them on line. I visited and worked with Chris Duke for a couple weeks before buying. I also visited Apple Ford of Columbia. Chris made me the best offer and had my visited and worked with Chris Duke for a couple weeks before buying. I also visited Apple Ford of Columbia. Chris made me the best offer and had my car ready when I was ready to pick it up. 3 months later I have had zero problems and am satisfied with the deal I got. More
After reading the review of the girl who said Koons said she had to pay for the maryland inspection, I had to post because they told me the same thing. I was told that on top of the vehicle price that I had she had to pay for the maryland inspection, I had to post because they told me the same thing. I was told that on top of the vehicle price that I had to pay Maryland inspection even though the inspection was already done. When I asked how much the inspection costs, I was told he doesn't know as every car is different, and that the inspection price would include anything they fixed/added such as new tires. Even though I don't know much about cars, this just did not seem right and not one other dealership I talked to said they had ever heard of that. It was also very difficult to actually find out the price of a vehicle as everytime I asked, I was told "I don't know, there's too many vehicles here for me to remember", and didn't even make a a real effort to find out. Even within 5 minutes of being at the dealership, all I did was say oh that looks nice (before I was told the price) and was told "well lets go inside and get the paperwork ready". And I responded "Well, can I at least know the price" and was told "I already told you, I can't remember all the prices of these cars" I will say that with them not "negotiating" or even budging a cent on their price, I was a bit floored at first, but I later did read on the internet that the internet price you see for a lot of dealerships is basically almost the bottomline price. It was also very frustrating looking at their website because vehicles that had been sold at least 3 weeks earlier were still showing on their site whereas some of the new ones were not. The website would list 40 vehicles available, when they only had maybe 8. And just to note, when I mentioned to a couple of my friends from the Annapolis area that I was looking at Koons used, they told me that it was not a good choice due to stories their friends/families had, so needless to say, I never went back. WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I was looking to purchase a passenger van from this dealership after I saw it on autotrader. After arriving and waiting in the used car building for 10 was looking to purchase a passenger van from this dealership after I saw it on autotrader. After arriving and waiting in the used car building for 10-15 minutes for someone to show me the vehicle, I had to ask someone to page a salesperson for me, despite having 5 different salespeople walk in front of me without asking if I needed help. After another 10 minutes, a guy named Bruce Otto approached and asks what I was interested in. After telling him, he gave me the keys to the van and told me to get it! What kind of treatment is that? Of course I said no and told him to get it for me, I'm not the valet. After filling the credit sheet and test driving, I went over to a desk to wait, while Bruce walked off for 15 minutes to do god knows what. After that, I became fed up and walked over to ask to do the deal, and he assumed that I was going to pay sticker and there was no room for negotiation! What is this, a Carmax wannabe? Needless to say, I just walked out right there since he obviously didn't care to sell it to me. The worst car buying experience EVER. AVOID KOONS FORD OF ANNAPOLIS AND ESPECIALLY BRUCE OTTO AT ALL COSTS. More
Horrible! Avoid at all costs! I was seriously considering purchasing a used car from this dealership. The sticker price was marked at around 8K and they absolutely refused to negotiate the sticker price, eve purchasing a used car from this dealership. The sticker price was marked at around 8K and they absolutely refused to negotiate the sticker price, even down only several hundred dollars. I am a young recent college graduate (and female), so I suppose that they figured they could take advantage of me. Well, I really liked the car, so I was still foolishly considering the possibility of paying the 8k sticker price for the vehicle. As soon as I started reviewing the paper work back in the office, I noticed an additional $800 tacked on to the sticker price! Shocked, I asked if this was the tax and title. No....it wasn't! Guess what these sleaze balls tried to tell me? That that was merely the cost of the MD State Inspection! After tax and title, I was faced with a bill over 10K! Needless to say, I walked out. I may not know a lot about cars, but I do know that a MD State Inspection has never cost me more than $150 in the past (and that most used car dealerships include this in their sticker price). Absolutely unbelievable (and CRIMINAL!) that they thought I would buy that! I don't trust this dealer and will NEVER, EVER associate with any Koons branch again after this experience! More
I took my 2007 Ford 500 to the service department on 11-15-08 and asked for an oil change and a tire rotation. The service representative, Mr. John Tripodi, wrote the service order for an “A Service,” 11-15-08 and asked for an oil change and a tire rotation. The service representative, Mr. John Tripodi, wrote the service order for an “A Service,” explaining, “we call this an A Service, we change the oil, rotate the tires, and check a few other things.” I signed the service order and waited for my car to be serviced. When the service was completed, the cashier presented me with a bill in the amount of $193.06. I inquired about what I believed was a lot to pay for an oil change and a tire rotation, which typically cost me about $50.00 at Koons Ford for previous oil changes, and she summoned Mr. Tripodi to explain the charges to me. His response was, “we discussed this in the service area, your car has 40,000 miles on it, you ordered the A Service.” What I thought I ordered was an oil change and a tire rotation. More
This organization has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They promised to pay to fix a window of a used car I bought and when I sent them the bill, the sales person had been fired and the ever experienced. They promised to pay to fix a window of a used car I bought and when I sent them the bill, the sales person had been fired and they have no record of any promises. Worst yet, they don't have the courtesy to say we don't believe you, they just "let me check on that," and nothing happens. Avoid Koons Ford like the plaque. More
IF YOU READ THIS YOU WILL BE SHOCKED!!!!!! I recommend that anyone who is thinking of buying from Koons Ford should run the other direction. I had the worst dealings with the sales people the main one bei that anyone who is thinking of buying from Koons Ford should run the other direction. I had the worst dealings with the sales people the main one being a man named Bruce. I contacted the dealership to buy a 2005 Excursion. When I call the talked with Bruce about a trade deal he told me that he would love to trade and he gave me a price for my car over the phone and then said the price for his Excursion was 25,500. Knowing the price was to good to be true I asked him againare you sure yours is 25,500. He stated yes that is the price. So thinking I was getting a great deal I decided to go buy an Excursion. So I dropped what I was doing because Bruce said he could not hold the car for anytime it was whoever came first. So I leave work cancel me Birthday party and get in the car and drive 300 mile to go get the Excursion. Now before I left to make the 6 hour trip I call and confirmed the price 2 other times. That makes a total of 4 calls confirming the price. So after driving 3 and a half hours I get a call from Bruce saying he made a huge mistake and told me the wrong price. The correct price was 32,000. So being over half way to the dealership I decide well I will go ahead and go anyway in hopes of working a deal. When I arrive I let Bruce and the sale manager know that I was unhappy that I rode 6 hours to be told they made a mistake and to top it off they both have attitudes. So then Bruce tells me he was wrong again the price is 34,500. So in the end the deal did not go through and I wasted 12 hours of my time and waste alot of gas money to get there. So the whole price changing tactic was thinking if I drive 300 miles I want leave without the Excursion. Boy were they wrong. I left by saying I was not pleased with there service and I would not recommend them to anyone. There reply was ok thanks. More
They had my vehicle for five hours and never touched it I watched them pull the truck into the bay when I left at 8am. They said someone would call aroung noon. When I did not receive a call I called them a watched them pull the truck into the bay when I left at 8am. They said someone would call aroung noon. When I did not receive a call I called them at 1pm . They said we have not done anything with the truck but look at it. They were suppose to change the oil and put on new brake pads. What requires five hours of staring at a truck for that purpose. More
Each time I've visited the service dept, I have been either ignored, treated disrespectfully, or my calls have not been returned. I will never buy another vehicle from this dealer until they fix the cus either ignored, treated disrespectfully, or my calls have not been returned. I will never buy another vehicle from this dealer until they fix the customer relations problems that they have in service.

So far, I've bought two new vehicles that could have been Ford products in the past 5 years. And I spend an average of $2,000 on service for my vehicles per year with a private mechanic, since Koons Ford's service department is so poorly motivated.

Considering all the money spent on attracting new customers, it just makes sense that they would try to keep the customers they already have. Not so, and it's sad, since I love my Ranger. More
