Don't buy a new Subaru if you want a reliable vehicle. In October of 2016, my husband and I purchased a 2017 Subaru from Kendall. Their sales team was really great. Jesse was our salesman, he was helpful and informative. In November 2016, we started having issues with the vehicle and the check engine light coming on. After having it towed in twice now because of the vehicles inability to start, we are still having the issues with the vehicle. The Vehicle meets all of the "requirements" for it to be considered a "lemon" in the state of Alaska. It has been taken in 3 times for the same issues and after the 3rd time the issue was still not resolved.The final "diagnoses" for the car was that there needed to be an computer update that is not available yet. The issue is causing the vehicle to not start. The vehicle will randomly decide to start. Over the phone on 24Jan2017 we were instructed by David in the service department to come and pick up the vehicle and keep it inside the garage until the computer update is available. At this time they do not have an ETA for the computer system update. So i am supposed to make monthly payments on a vehicle that I cannot drive. They did not want to provide us with a rental vehicle. They said that they would pay for 1 day and if the vehicle had to be kept longer that we would have to pay for the rental, even though it was not our fault for the vehicles inability to start. Subaru ended up paying for the 3 additional days that they had the vehicle. Jermaine from Subaru told us in December 2016, that the vehicle is not cut out for the temperatures we experience here. We purchased the vehicle in Fairbanks Alaska. Not Anchorage or in the lower 48. We were told by Micheal Buske, Kendall's service manager, that they are not only having this issue with our vehicle, but consumers that purchased a subaru in the last 3-5 years are also having this same issue. They are selling military members and other consumers here in fairbanks vehicles that are not dependable and not fit or safe to drive in the environment here in Alaska. We decided to purchase the WRX from Kendall because we had a great experience with them when we purchased our 2016 Honda. Which does preforms flawlessly in the harsh winters here. Their sales team is awesome, I wouldn't say the same about their service department. More

My experiences have always been pleasant; I particularly like the low pressure sales. If you tell them you are looking for an Access Cab Tacoma only, they won't call 2 days later just to let you know that they just took in a Crew Cab Ford with an 8ft bed that "they can get you a really awesome price on". More interested in making sure you get what you want/need than making a sale. Sales staff are knowledgable and friendly, and I've always gotten a fair deal. More

This is the type of thing that makes people upset. The very nice young woman that answers the phone was apologetic but said I may want to come in and talk with them since they are not returning my messages. All I want is a quote. I don't want to drag my 3 and 1 yr old in there when I could just do that over the phone. Don't have an answering machine if you are not going to return calls. More
Horrible experience every time I have visited I first visited because the back tires of my new Forester were wearing unevenly (the vehicle only had 13,000 miles on it). It was clearly something that fell under by warranty, but they argued with me and tried to tell me it was my fault because I must be carrying to much weight in the back of the vehicle (the only thing I usually have back there is an emergency kit). A few months later I decided to tighten my belt and get out of the lease for the Forester so I could buy a cheaper used vehicle. The sales manager I talked to gave me the wrong information and ended up costing me THOUSANDS of dollars!! I now have a used vehicle which rolled into a tree when parked at my house. As my only vehicle it was important I get it in right away for an inspection to make sure it was safe to drive as it hit the tree pretty hard. The Toyota dealership is one of the only mechanics open on weekends. I called first thing in the morning and the person I talked to said she would talk to some people to try to squeeze me in and get back to me within the hour. Its been 7 hours and I am still waiting. I have called several times and left messages with many different people but nobody has returned my call. I guess its not important to them to have the business from a person who's vehicle will probably cost several thousand dollars to repair, not to mention the fact that it is currently dangerous to drive. I will be waiting until Monday to take my car to a mechanic who will actually appreciate my business. More

My sales experience simply could not have been made any easier! Our sales person - Lynn Holmgren - listened attentively to our situation (after we had just "totaled" one of our cars in a collision), discu easier! This is our second vehicle purchased from Kendall (and from Lynn at that dealer) and I doubt we would shop anywhere else. Definitely worth the trip for us from Anchorage to Fairbanks to work, once again, with these fine folks. "Highly recommended!" More
I did not have an appointment, I was helped quickly. I heard a horrible noise when driving from the front wheel, it started all of a sudden. Bobby Chance has been my servuce advisor for the majority of the work I've had done at Kendall, and I am so impressed with his thoroughness and ability to make sure the job is done correctly. This past we of the work I've had done at Kendall, and I am so impressed with his thoroughness and ability to make sure the job is done correctly. This past week I wasn't sure my block heater was working properly and he made sure that the repairs that had been done were as they should be so I'd have no worries at 40 below. i really appreciate his willingness to go the extra mile for the customer--and his pleasantness. My driver's side windshield wiper stopped working, so I brought in my car to the service department. I was greeted by Mr. Bobby Chance and he said they would take care of it right away. I waited for just a few minutes in the lounge and Mr. Chance came in and told me it was all done. He led me back to my car and I was on my way. Fast and friendly service! It is comforting to know, as an Army wife, that while my husband is away (like he is now for a 6 week training), I can take my car in to Kendall and it will be taken care of.
