I took in my 2003 used Honda Civic that I had purchased from Koons in July of 2010. I had started getting a maintenance required light upon start up. Setting up the appointment was easy and quick, so no complaints there. Within a few hours of dropping the car off I received a call from Mike about my car. It turned out the my brake, and transmission fluid needed to be flushed and I needed new oil. I was shocked by the former 2 since the car was only 6 months in my possession. The oil change was expected and I gladly paid for that. The Mike began telling me about a problem with my battery and the passenger side cable deteriorating. I asked first off how there was any chance this could have developed in the mere 6 months of my ownership of the vehicle since corrosion takes time to manifest and is not a short process (his words on corrosion not mine). He did not have an answer to that but assured me that it was actually covered by Honda Care and it would be an easy fix. Another 15 minutes passes and Mike calls me back telling me that my car no longer has Honda Care and I would have to pay for the battery repair out of pocket if I still wanted it. I once again pressed for an explanation of how a car that was owned by Koons 6 months ago is now manifesting this issue. Mike was unable to explain in any detail about that or how this came about. I asked Mike how critical the issue was and I got a non-committal, "It could be or it could never amount to anything, we are required to inform you." After coming over to pick up my car I was greeted told where to pay and then given my car. No one went over the work they had done on my vehicle or why. In retrospect I also wonder about the necessity of changing the brake and transmission fluid after only 6 months of ownership. Overall I walked away with doubts about purchasing the car from Koons in the first place. More
Our Honda CRV needed some minor work due to a small accident. Glenn was very helpful. Would call with information, so we were always kept abreast of our progress. I have been doing business with Koons for at least 26 years. I have always been very satisfied. I only have one concern. I receive coupons for oil changes that expire too quickly and then after I ha years. I have always been very satisfied. I only have one concern. I do not put that many miles on my Honda so my coupon needs to last at least 3 months. More
Overall a good visit; did not appreciate the poor signage about free coffee machine tokens - I had already plunked my 50 cents into the machine when I saw the sign - then the cashier would not signage about free coffee machine tokens - I had already plunked my 50 cents into the machine when I saw the sign - then the cashier would not refund my 50 cents - not a big deal but the principle of the matter. Some mechanic got grease on my driver's seat - when I noticed it, Ralph cleaned it off with some solvent that was unbearable to breathe - had to drive home with windows down and it sure was cold! I bought a new 2011 Honda Civic. Michael, the salesman, was good and very professional. Ronnie, the finance officer, sold me the car at 10% APR but couldn't get me financed. So a week later he asked me to was good and very professional. Ronnie, the finance officer, sold me the car at 10% APR but couldn't get me financed. So a week later he asked me to return the car. So I called Ronnie to set up a time to return the car. But luckily he was out and Frank, another finance officer, returned the call. When I told him about my situation, he immediately got me financed at much lower rate! I dont know how the financing process rally works but I think Ronnie was not totally honest with me (or maybe he was). I was very satisfied with the service provided by the dealership. The experience with Ronnie is the only reason I did not give them excellent review. More
Kristen is a very knowledgeable and friendly person to work with. She is flexible, understanding and very practical. She wont pressurize you but will give you all the facts. On a rainy day,I needed a repair done on my inoperatible windshield wipers ASAP. First, I tried the dealer where I purchased my car, but would not be able to get an appointment for 2 days. They were extremely helpful on the phone, describing the possible problem solutions, expense, time needed, and even cautioned me about the additional damage I could cause by continuing to use the wipers. I drove directly to Koons, and the Service department was able to do the repair that afternoon. More
