I've been dealing with Koons for a number of years and have always been satisfied with my experiences there, both in Sales and Service. I only wish they were closer to where I live! I have been a long time Honda owner who has not had problems with dealerships of cars that I've bought from/serviced over the past. When I moved to Virginia several years ago, I bought a car from KOON problems with dealerships of cars that I've bought from/serviced over the past. When I moved to Virginia several years ago, I bought a car from KOONS of MANASSAS. After that, things went badly down hill. Service issues were poorly dealt with. I was told I didn't have problems with my driver window on my 2009 Civic Hybrid, after it broke and had to be replaced once. 2 service appointments later, I was told, "Oh, yeah, the window IS off the track." I felt questioned when I told them I was still having problems. I bought a 2009 Civic Hybrid from Koons. I talked to another 2009 Civic Hybrid owner who bought/services his car at Tyson's dealership and loves them, and told me they recommended that he have a software update for his hybrid battery. I needed service at Koons several weeks later, asked if I needed an update and was told NO. At a future service app't, I was told I needed the update! My Civic hybrid's gas mileage was well below what it was advertised to be, PLUS the IMA battery is known by Honda corp. as one with major deterioration problems. I bought the car to have peace of mind, and due to the issues of the hybrid's battery problems, I don't have it. I wrote an email to the head sales manager, STEVEN BURGER, asking for help and to trade in my hybrid for a gas engine vehicle. At first, he was extremely personable, telling me he'd take care of me. After weeks passed, and little/nothing was done to help me, I became very discouraged. Twice I appointments were set with a sales person who was assigned to help me by Steven. Twice the salesman didn't show up, none the less even call me to cancel! Unbelievably poor customer service. I called STEVEN BURGER and asked him to PLEASE call me back as it was important. No return call. Yesterday, I realized the frustrations I've experienced over the past 4 years with KOONS of MANASSAS SALES as well as SERVICE dep'ts was not worth it. Yesterday I traded in my 2009 Civic hybrid (only 14,00 miles) and bought a Nissan (gas engine). The first thought when I drove off the Nissan's car lot with my new car was, YIPEE! I don't have to ever deal with KOONS of MANASSAS any longer! I'm sorry to say that it is not only me who has had very bad experiences with this dealership. I work at the local hospital and have talked with two people I work with who told me they have heard nothing but negative things about Koons. Another person at the hospital told me their son bought a car from Koons in Manassas, had many problems and wound up going to the Fairfax Honda dealership for much better customer service. Sorry to say it's not only me who will never go to Koons. My hope is that this helps you before you make the mistake I did. More
I THOUGHT THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. GLENN OGLE COMPLETED HE WORK IN A LITTLE OVER 2.25.HOURS AND THAT WAS ABOUT 15 MINUTES LESS THAN I EXPECTED. THE COST WAS HIGH, BUT THE SERVICE WAS NEEDED. I have been coming to Koons Honda since 2004 and consistently receive outstanding service and value. One main reason for this is the high quality service advisors. Tony has been my advisor the ent consistently receive outstanding service and value. One main reason for this is the high quality service advisors. Tony has been my advisor the entire 7 years and not only do I trust him in his recommendations, he makes you feel like family. It is rare that one looks forward to going to the dealer...but...it this case it is the feeling that I have. In my 35 years of driving, I have never had a service advisor more than two years. Koons must be doing something right. More
The dealership listened to my concerns and took action on them. All problems were easily resolved in a friendly manner and they went out of their way to make sure I was happy. Let me say that this was a fantastic experience. Koons handled everything. They matched my lowest price and got me the car I wanted. They also took care of my trade and gave me a competitive price. The Car (Honda Civic EX), the warranty (5/100,000), the documentation (no headaches, they took care of it all), and the people (worked hard to answer all my questions), made the Koon's experience a great experience. Steve Berger and Theo made it easy for me to stay at Koon's. 5 stars and a big thumbs up. Based on the sales experience, I can only look forward to the service experience (which I don't expect to see for years: It is a Honda!) I had booked the car in for brakes and oil service but was very pleased to receive a call telling me the brakes were in good shape and had been cleaned up. I'm sure some auto shops would have replaced them without thought. The descriptive report card that Koons provides is also a fantastic way of making sure the routine care of the vehicle can be well managed. Having visited a number of dealerships in the area. Koons is by far the friendliest but most importantly professional in its dealing with their customers. I originally purchased the vehicle at this shop at would not hesitate to return. More
Having an automobile service at Koons is never a painful experience as it is in other shops and dealerships. Although it is always difficult to spend money on car repairs, one at least understands the diagn experience as it is in other shops and dealerships. One can also be certain that the work, barring something unusual, will have been done right the first time. More
