Really, just delightful. Not only were the sales staff professional and courteous, but fun. I ended up having to spend half the day at Jack Ellena (through no fault of their own, xxxx insurance companies) professional and courteous, but fun. I ended up having to spend half the day at Jack Ellena (through no fault of their own, xxxx insurance companies) and you know what? I had a really nice time. There was no tough sell, there were no sleazy tactics, and I left feeling happy and confident with my purchase. This was my first car purchase, so I don't have a big frame of reference, but if you're interested in a Honda (and as a new owner of one, I have decent reason to believe you should be) I'd stop by. Look for Matt. More

Matt took the time to find out what I wanted and needed. He gave me options, and I believe I got a fair deal. The whole experience was easy and I would definitely recommend the dealership to my friends. He gave me options, and I believe I got a fair deal. Initially, I was very nervous to go into Jack Ellena Honda and begin the search for a new vehicle. I am a recent grad school graduate and had no experience buying a car. Monty was the one who made initi Honda and begin the search for a new vehicle. I am a recent grad school graduate and had no experience buying a car. Monty was the one who made initial contact at the dealership and quickly put myself and my friend at ease. Monty then introduced us to Marc, who took us on a test drive in a new 2013 CRV. Marc was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle and was able to answer the questions we had. I was immediately put at ease and did not feel as though he was just trying to make a sale. Although I originally was not planning to purchase a vehicle until a few weeks down the road, I left the dealership knowing that the CRV was what I wanted to purchase. After a couple of days and getting some more information, I decided to meet with Monty and Marc again to start getting some specifics in line. Throughout the entire process, I genuinely felt as though Marc was looking out for my best interest and trying to help me feel comfortable. After finding out that he had only been with Honda for a little over a week, I was even more impressed. He has stayed in touch with me every step of the way and when he could not answer something for me, he immediately found someone who could. I have nothing negative to say about my experience. Each individual I have come into contact with have been friendly and helpful. I could not have asked for a better experience in purchasing my first vehicle on my own. I look forward to keeping my vehicle serviced and maintained at this dealership. More
When I arrived at Jack Ellena Honda to look at some used cars, I worked with Jeremy. He was funny, easy to talk to, and non-pressuring. However, I wasn't overly impressed with the price of my used car or cars, I worked with Jeremy. He was funny, easy to talk to, and non-pressuring. However, I wasn't overly impressed with the price of my used car or the trade-in value of my former car -- certainly a negotiation fail on my part. When I returned the next day with the keys and title to my trade-in, everyone was full of jokes, hand shakes, and high fives. However, when I had questions about the date of the most recent oil change and a service light that was illuminated on my new car, Jeremy told me to just pull around to service. I was a bit disappointed he wasn't willing to personally look into my concerns and ensure I was happy with my new purchase. Perhaps it's because his commission had already been earned? As I waited to have my car detailed, I met with Tom Cuny to cancel the nearly $2500 in extended warranties I had "purchased." Tactful and professional discouragement is one thing, but Tom became rude and angry, a far cry from his over-the-top joviality to which I had become so accustomed. I sat there for nearly 15 min while Tom disparaged me, my dad, and our intellect -- "I hate to see smart people do dumb things.... This is a horrible mistake. You're upside down in this car.... Your dad is making a horrible financial decision on your behalf.... I hope you go down the road of regret in 6 months." To top it all off, Tom ripped staples out of the old paperwork I'd signed, rebundled the relevant paperwork, and sent me on my way with a "good luck." When I got inside my car, I discovered that the issues I arrived with hadn't even been addressed. Fortunately, I was able to address those myself with the help of a friendly Dennis Griffin. Thanks also to Cathy Ellena with whom I crossed paths in the waiting area. She greeted me by name based only on a brief interaction the day before. I told her, "It seems I've upset some people." She at least was kind enough to listen briefly and offer me a cookie. Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. I discovered on my first trip out of Lawrence that the tires were out of alignment. In the process of having that fixed, the repair shop informed us that the tires were worn and separating from the inside. Given the safety concern, they had to be replaced. After my experience at Jack Ellena Honda, I would say you can find a better value, better selection, and more sincere and professional people elsewhere. Without a doubt, I would avoid this business as a young, single female. I wish I would've made the drive to one of the 5+ Honda dealerships in Kansas City. More
This is a great group of guys. They were very willing to work out a deal to get me the car I really wanted at a fair price in spite of some credit challenges. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and made buying a car fun. I already knew I wanted a Honda, but I went to at least 4 other dealers throughout the Kansas City area before deciding to go out to Lawrence. I'm so glad I did! They made it clear that they wanted me as a customer. The next time I buy a car, I'm going back to Jack Ellena, and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a vehicle. Go see Coop & Jeremy. They will take good care of you. More
Overall the staff was friendly. The saleman I worked with, Bowe Gribble, did an excellent job of pointing out features of cars while I was shopping. The staff was very friendly. Overall, it was as good as an experience as you can expect when purchasing a vehicle from a dealership, I suppose. Car salesman all have lines and strategies they use to persuade you. I was told several times that they "couldn't" bring the price of the car down anymore, which I know means they wouldn't. Having said that, based on my research, I did receive a fair price for the car and they were able to get me a very good interest rate on my financing. I was very, very apprehensive about this purchase, because this car is the most expensive thing I have ever owned, next to my education. It was scary, but the staff did make efforts at appearing sympathetic and they helped me work through my concerns. I did feel like they were willing to be patient and spend the time with me that I needed in order to come around to making the purchase. There was one line in particular used by one of the salesmen that irritated me, because I felt he would not have said the same thing to me if I were a man, but again, car salesman all have their lines and strategies they use to convince you to buy. As long as you keep that in mind going in, you can have a good experience at this dealership. There were definitely moments of genuine human connection with the staff as well, when they were just being their real, authentic selves and I really appreciate that. Making a major purchase like this can be very anxiety-provoking and I was not a fan of the process overall, but I really don't have much negative to say about this dealership. I would consider doing business with them again. More
