Really nice to see how many people had salesman who were more friendly and knowledgeable than pushing hard for the sale. My salesman told me his mom was out of work because she didn't have a vehicle and her more friendly and knowledgeable than pushing hard for the sale. My salesman told me his mom was out of work because she didn't have a vehicle and her cleaning service was dependent on having something to drive and would I personally sell him my van (not as a trade-in through Toyota). I told him I was a sucker for helping moms needing to stay in work, and yes, if I could find something that worked for me. I bought a van and sold him mine personally for $1,000 (turns out I could've sold it for $1,500). He tried to get another $100 knocked off my price which I didn't do. Management was fine with him making the transaction at the dealership and storing his new purchase there as well. 17 days have gone by and he hasn't transferred the title which means I got taken, his mom was in no emergency to get a ride, and I'm a bit raw for having made a rush decision on my purchase on his behalf (shame on me for that part). I did not get a patient salesman that day, nor today. I made an appointment for today letting him know this wasn't the Sienna for me. When I came to talk, he was not explorative at all trying to figure out what I needed nor did he offer to make it right to try and trade-in the van I had just bought for anything other than the low-ball value that they give (they probably bought the van for $5k and sold it to me for $9k). So I did not get the friendly salesman trying to figure out what my needs were, was not knowledgeable about what was on the lot, was always in a rush, and again, shame on me for falling for it. Not proud of myself, that salesman, or management for allowing him to scam customers for his personal gain in the store. I miss the personal touch that so many others got to experience. More
