With these and other preconceptions, I was d-e-l-i-g-h-t-e-d to have been proven so wrong about the new car buying experience as I had experienced this past Thursday at Harbor Hyundai in Long Beach! After scouring Yelp.com attempting to find a truly honest, non-pressure Hyundai car dealer, Harbor Hyundai came to me highly-rated from other customers... And they were right! In fact I drove all the way up from San Diego to purchase my Elantra, which was a great decision on my part. I spoke to Mr. Doug Van Dyck the day before I purchased my car, and I told him that it was important to me to "firm-up" a price on the phone for the new Elantra and my trade-in. With the utmost professionalism, Doug quoted me a price, and that's exactly what I paid (and received in the case of the trade-in) when I walked in the door the following day! NO HAGGING! This made me very, very, happy! :) Doug was the perfect catalyst to an exceptional new-car buying experience! There was no pressure at all from Doug, he just made my experience as smooth as possible. This was by far the easiest buying experience I have ever had! I am a medical student with very little time and very little money who was looking for a clean, practical, and dependable car with a warranty t had! Leonard, the internet sales manager, helped me secure an excellent price by email before we even met, and he found exactly what I wanted!! He also helped get my trade-in pre-appraised so that I wasn't wasting my time when I brought it in. It took me two visits, and it would have only taken one but I came in really late the first day. The entire time, I felt as if he had my best interests in mind, even though at times he had to be brutally honest with me (in a friendly way of course). In addition, Rick, who helped me with financing was able to secure me a rate even lower than what I was pre-approved for while at the same time ensuring that I had full coverage in case of accident/ total loss. I left feeling great about the price with my insurance and DMV needs cared for driving the exact car I wanted! I will be going back to these guys in the future for all of my car accessory needs and future purchases. More
