This dealership lacks strong leadership. Leaders that follow through on what they say and don't just give you face time and the forget about it. Change is needed. No one returns phone calls. Matt in the Service Department is not a service manager. The bread and butter of a great dealership is its service department. VW Gurnee has none! We leased a VW Atlas in 2020 and bought an SEL Premium in April 2021. It was given to us without being detailed - it had travel spots all over it. We had to complain and it was finally sent out to a third party detailer after VW Gurnee had it for 3-4 days to tray and clean it. We had to ask who the third party detailer was that would have our new car. We were never provided any updates without asking first. We were not hearing anything. We finally called the detailer direct. They had no idea why they had the car until and said no one at Gurnee VW was returning their phone calls. We had to call Gurnee VW and force them to call the detailer to explain what they were supposed to do with our 2021 Atlas. When we finally picked up our car after more than a week for detailing, the Gurnee VW service manager (Matt) couldn't even come out of his office and say hello, ask us if everything tuned out OK, apologize, etc. My wife couldn't take it and finally went into his office and explained to him how a service manager acts and should run his department. And, they wouldn't even top off the gas tank when I made sure the loaner I had was full. I would highly recommend a more seasoned and trained service leader and service department in general. I think it starts from the top down, It would be great to buy a vehicle and keep the relationship going into service for years to come, but not here. We will be going elsewhere to have our Atlas serviced. More
