Service was not honest about the reason my 2004 Beetle Transmission with 53,000 miles was failing. VW knows of the flaw but I was not told that it is a common problem with this model. There should have been a recall but instead the customers have to pay the price for this poorly designed tranny. After doing research on the internet I find the $3,100 repair or $10,000 replacement quote to be way out of line. I am getting the rebuilt Valve Body installed by a reputable shop for $1,700. More
