As usual, I had an outstanding experience at Gunn Honda. This time I took my car for a recall and it was ready in just over an hour. The staff was very friendly too. This time I took my car for a recall and it was ready in just over an hour. The staff was very friendly too. More

For routine maintenance and also bought 4 new tires, i was driving back home but on my way the warning sign lighted up saying i need routine maintenance “again”, i drove back miles away to have it reset, i was upset. The 2nd time was in Oct. 2023, i need a new battery, and a (break fluid changed too) aside from the price was high compared to other tire dealer, i was told that there were no stocks and Honda only gives 2 yrs warranty, I mentioned to the service agent that i found a cheaper price with 3 yrs warranty, he told me to wait and will call me back. I did not received a call but only a voicemail saying i have a new battery replaced but to my surprise the price was never justified why there were no discounts considering i have found a dealer that can give me almost 40% off Honda’s priced and that he just installed the battery without letting me know the final price and that he found a stock, the only consolation was it was changed to 3 yrs warranty. Tge 3rd time i went was yesterday 11/30/23 ( hoping service will be better this time). I had my routine car maintenance and was offered additional services throttle body service and alignment. I was on my way home may miles away from Honda in IH-10 and suddenly my card slowed down, i tried to pressed the pedal to accelerate but i was shocked to see multiple scaring warning signs, that i’m not sure if i even safe to drive, i stopped on the side of the road and tried calling my service agent Adam 3 times but he did not pick up, i called trunk line and was 2 times it say ending call, operator connected me to service, i got an ending call notice again, it was so frustrating until i got somebody by the name Tony to answer and gave me a choice to drive back to Honda or come back the next day! ( come back next day with all the scary warning signs flushing?). I called in at work for that night (no work, no pay policy because i’m a contract employee without benefits). Donny assisted me and explained that the throttle body service performed was not placed or threaded back tightly enough that it got dislodged when i accelerated. This incident not only caused me to lose 12 hours paid check at my work but worst is the stress and trauma because of uncertainty on my safety. Yes, i was refunded of the $124.00 for the throttle body service rendered but it’s not worth all the anxiety and the thought that whenever i drive it might happen again. More
Bad experience #1: After purchasing a “certified pre-owned” Honda, I had taken the vehicle for a scheduled oil change 6 days ( 2 Aug) after I picked up the vehicle. I’m not sure why a dealer would s pre-owned” Honda, I had taken the vehicle for a scheduled oil change 6 days ( 2 Aug) after I picked up the vehicle. I’m not sure why a dealer would sell a certified car without a fresh oil change but the nonetheless I went. After a month and a half 22 Sep), a warning light came on to tell me that the oil was low. Little did I know that when I brought the vehicle for the oil change on 2 Aug, they “forgot” to do the oil change even though they had the car for several hours. I went in for an express oil change that day. Bad experience #2: it’s been less than four months since I bought the 2020 Pilot. This week the car would not start twice. I called for an appointment and brought it in to servicing on 24 Nov. Denise was my advisor. When she asked me why I came in, I told her that I had an appointment to check what was going on with the car. I said maybe a bad alternator. She immediately made me feel stupid by saying that I wouldn’t have been able to drive there if it was the alternator. Then told me that batteries usually go in three years and that I’d have to pay to replace it. I told her that I just bought the car. She said she’d look into seeing if the warranty would cover it. I got a call from her about 30 minutes later and she said I’d have to pay $270 to replace it. In her words, “I always tell my customers that batteries are like light bulbs they go out at any time.” I stopped into Advanced Auto Parts who offered me their top of the line battery with a great warranty for much less than the dealership. They said they would replace the battery for me too. My issue with this visit is that servicing knows the life expectancy of a battery. If you are going to promote a vehicle as “certified” and know that the oil is low or the battery is going to die soon, is it not important to ensure that the vehicle is maintenance free at least for the first 6 months? Have you just thrown the idea of good customer service and retaining customer loyalty out door? I haven’t ever felt such lack of care from a servicing department. I’m so disappointed in this dealership. More
