My experience with Kia was extremely disappointing and, unfortunately, one of the most unprofessional car-buying experiences I have ever had. Three of us visited the dealership after seeing a TikTok adver unfortunately, one of the most unprofessional car-buying experiences I have ever had. Three of us visited the dealership after seeing a TikTok advertising current Kia specials. We arrived with the genuine intention of purchasing three vehicles that day. Instead, we spent approximately 10 hours at the dealership dealing with poor communication, inconsistent information, and what felt like a complete lack of transparency. Our sales representatives, Malcom and Elijah, made several statements and representations regarding the deals that ultimately did not match what we were told in the finance office. We agreed on a specific total with a co-signer. However, when we reached financing, the amount was approximately $60 higher than what had been discussed, and we were then told that the co-signer would have to be listed as the primary person on the contract while the other individual would become the co-signer. Despite the confusion, I ultimately signed all of the required paperwork, paid $1,500 down, received the keys, and drove away in my vehicle. The other two individuals went to the Dodge dealership next door and completed their vehicle purchases there. Three days later, Elijah began repeatedly contacting all of our phones, stating that we needed to contact Dodge and have them select another lender because both purchases were apparently being financed through the same lender. This was not an issue that we created, nor was it something that was properly explained to us during the purchasing process. The situation became even more concerning when, later that evening, a manager called and threatened to report the Kia as stolen and involve the police if we did not immediately return the vehicle. To be very clear: I did not steal anything. I signed the purchase documents, paid $1,500 down, was given the keys by the dealership, and was legally provided possession of the vehicle. If there was a financing or lender issue, that should have been handled professionally between the dealership, the lenders, and the parties involved—not by threatening a customer who followed the dealership's instructions and completed the paperwork presented to them. From the sales department through financing, the communication was extremely poor. The staff were unfriendly, the information we received was inconsistent, and the overall experience left us feeling that we were not being treated honestly or professionally. Making a mistake is one thing. Threatening a customer over a mistake made by the dealership is completely unacceptable. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering purchasing from this location proceed with extreme caution. Make sure every term, price, lender, and agreement is clearly documented before signing anything. I would not recommend this Kia location based on my experience, and I would especially encourage customers to be cautious when dealing with Malcom and Elijah. More
