Twice now, I've brought my Solara in expecting a $30-$50 maintenance (oil change & tire rotation). Each time the service technician calls to tell me that I need over $1000 worth of work performed! While I understand that it's the service technician's responsibility to inform me of all work that should be done, I feel that there MUST be a better way to go about it. I even asked the technician if I'd be better off buying a new car: I can't afford a "mortgage payment" every time I bring my car in for an oil change. He assured me that I had a great car in great condition, but I still can't afford to spend that kind of cash when I'm expecting (and budgeting) for an oil change. I appreciate the fact that Lenny worked to give me the best price possible, but why quote me $1300 worth of work and then whittle it down to $1000? Why not just quote me the best price possible up front? (I went through this same exercise on my previous service appointment: the technician informed me of $1200 worth of maintenance that needed to be performed; after I picked my jaw up off the floor, we did about $600 worth of work.) I feel like the way Girard Toyota handles this borders on unethical. You lost a customer over this; I won't be back. As a side note, I find the new service setup very impractical: when picking up my vehicle, I went to the door that indicates it's the service entrance and waited for the receptionist there to direct me where to go. She informed me that I had to go out to the drop-off location and get the attention of one of the techs out there. I was then escorted through the bay to the parts department to pay for my service so that I could once again walk back through the drop off bay to pick up my car which was parked out front. I have lost faith in Girard Toyota and will not be servicing any vehicle there again. I don't get this kind of treatment at Cardinal Honda (where my wife's car is serviced). Furthermore, if this is "Toyota issue", then this will be the last Toyota that I own. More
Service Manager Lenny gave me significant attention. He ensured that I understood the problem and the solution. He selected a mechanic who worked on his own car and assured me I would be satisfied. He has picked up my vehicles several times over the years at my home and had it serviced and then returned to my home saving me time. Mr. Galante has taken care of my vehicles and always apprised me of recalls and on several occassions as not charged me for minor issues he found while working on my vehicle. I would not buy a vehicle anywhere else. Thanks Girard Toyota. More

Lenny always gives me great service and shows that he cares about my car and my concerns. If he weren't there, I probably would go somewhere else. I did not purchase my Prius from Girard but I have used them twice for service, the usual oil check up etc. Cindy has always fit me in whenever I have requested time, she is very pleasant.
