I just bought a 2011 Forester from Sandy Jackson at Gerald Subaru in Naperville. Gerald Subaru has completely changed my opinion about what it means to buy a car at a new car dealer. They were friendly and courteous via email, on the phone and in person. They offered me a great value not only on the car I purchased but in their assessment of my trade-in. They were very honest in their negotiations with me; there were no games and no high pressure tactics from start to finish. Right down to the finance office - they listened to what I wanted and did not try to force add on options on me just to improve their profit margin. I know what you're thinking, "this guy must have walked in and rolled over and that's why he sees Gerald Subaru through rose colored glasses". Quite the contrary, I drove a hard bargain. I negotiated with multiple local dealers and Gerald Subaru won my business based solely on the fact that they gave me the best deal. I was willing to drive to Elgin, Schaumburg even Madison for the best price. I did not need to because in the end, Gerald Subaru made me the best offer. The icing on the cake is that I did not have to compromise on service to get the best price. Gerald Subaru offers a lifetime warranty and every employee I encountered clearly was focused on their customers. I am thrilled to be a Gerald Subaru customer and I'm making myself sick at how I'm going on and on about it ;) If you need a car, do yourself a favor and don't make a final decision until you've talked to Sandy Jackson at Gerald Subaru!! Sandy Jackson was great to work with during the whole process. A couple of issues out of her control...We wished the sales manager would have mentioned that the extended warranty had a mileage cap before process. A couple of issues out of her control...We wished the sales manager would have mentioned that the extended warranty had a mileage cap before we were doing the final paperwork, and we were upset that the car we purchased was sold by another dealer so we ended up with a car that had minor differences, and the paperwork took an extra day. However, a different sales manager we dealt with when we picked up the car fixed the warranty issue, and, as mentioned, Sandy was terrific. More

After requesting online quotes from several different dealers, I have to admit that I was hoping to purchase a new vehicle at a dealership that was closer to my home. I had even gone to the closest one (in Joliet) to test drive a couple different vehicles that I was still deciding between. I was getting beyond frustrated when first I was told by the dealer in Joliet that the vehicle I wanted was not available without the additional packages. After much going back and forth he finally admitted I could purchase a Sorento without the extra package, but the only one available already had over 800 miles. And this was supposed to be a brand new vehicle! I went home and waited for several hours for him to contact me to let me know if there was another Sorento nearby without that many miles. I finally gave up on him and contacted Michael Gately at Gerald in Naperville. Michael had already called me a couple times since I had requested the online quote. Within 10 minutes he found me the exact vehicle that I wanted without trying to haggle me on extras AND he even went down on the price, which I was not expecting. It made me wish that I didn't pay so much attention to the location and drove the extra miles to Gerald from the beginning. It would have made my experience so much less stressful! My overall experience at the dealership was great. They didn't pressure me into buying a car that wasn't for me.
