My wife and I purchased a 2014 Subaru Forester XT Touring from Sandy Jackson yesterday. It was a great experience! Here are the reasons why: 1) Unbeatable price - Sandy's best price, offered without any dickering, was substantially below what we had seen elsewhere online (including TrueCar). I took Sandy's price and aggressively shopped it around at every other Subaru dealer in the metropolitan area. Regular salespeople would see her price, get this far off look in their eye, mumble "that's crazy" and then shoo me out the door. Interestingly enough, other dealers' internet salespeople couldn't get near her low price. After three weeks of that, and reviewing the Forester "Prices Paid" sections of Edmunds and subaruforester.org, I'm confident that we got the best price possible; 2) Straightforward deal - No bait and switch, no high-pressure sales tactics (I hate waiting games the most), no hard sale on warranties and dealer add-ons, just a plain, professional transaction for a car. I, and most other people I think, lament the fact that buying a car can't be more like buying a tv or some other thing with plain and transparent pricing. Our purchase was just that simple. I kept waiting for the trapdoor, none was provided; 3) Nice person - Sandy is very friendly, but not in that cloying "I want to be your best friend so I can sell you this car" kind of way. We had rented a car to drive out to the dealership (we sold our previous car a few weeks before our new Subaru was to be delivered). She volunteered that had she known we were carless, she would have picked us up from the Naperville train station. Before I completed this purchase, I probably would have said no to the offer (my default position on car dealers is "I trust them as far as I can throw them"), but now I know that I could have trusted her to pick me up and not use my carlessness as leverage to gain additional concessions from me. This is something to be mindful of if you're thinking about coming from out of state to take advantage of low pricing; 4) Free Gerald unlimited lifetime powertrain warranty - I'm not sure how this will turn out, but could very well be a sweet bonus. You do have to do all of the factory recommended service. More
Gerald Service on my vehicle has been terrible. The engine was ruined on my new Subaru from a routine oil change gone bad done by Gerald's Service Dept. They replaced the engine at no additional monetary cost, but we've had nothing but problems with it ever since. The installation of the replacement engine appears to have been outside the capabilities of the Gerald Service Dept. Even though I was happy when I bought the Subaru and for the first eight months I owned it, the last six months, with repeated visits to the dealer to fix a new car that they sold me, is not what I was hoping for when purchasing a new vehicle. After it is returned to me, I am hoping to sell it or trade it in so I don't have to worry about it anymore. The net effect will probably be me losing money on what I still owe on it, but I just want to be done with it. I can't count on the dealer in my home town for service. Too bad to because I was proud to be a Subaru owner but this experience has really soured me on the brand and on Gerald. More

I was happy to find out Sandy was back at Gerald and didn't hesitate to make an appointment with her when I knew I had to replace my 2000 Subaru Outback with 226,675 miles on it. In 2011 we bought a Subaru Forester at Gerald after leaving discouraged from another Subaru dealer in Schaumburg. We found what we were looking for: a fantastic car, great lifetime warranty, a sales team that took a friendly - not pushy - approach, a great deal - and a wonderful service/parts personnel. Subaru sells itself, that is for sure. However, Gerald Subaru's TEAM -- was icing on the cake. So on Saturday, June 1, 2013 - I knew I wanted another Subaru Outback. Of course I did my due diligence, Edmunds, Consumer Reports, etc., I even checked other dealer sites. However, I knew that I was coming back to Sandy Jackson - and I trusted her implicitly. She is a warm and friendly person - and exudes great confidence in her Subaru knowledge. SHE IS FANTASTIC!!!! It didn't feel like an exhausting experience at all. Sandy made sure that we were taken care of. Fresh hot chocolate was provided while we talked, laughed and discussed the details of the car purchase. I LOVE MY SUBARU OUTBACK! I even named my car "Sandy". This is my 2nd Outback. Our family's 4th Subaru. So, if you want a truly amazing car buying experience -- save yourself the worry and hassle. Sandy responded to me promptly with a very competitive price and detailed information. Gerald has great inventory so I could easily find the car to best suit myself. After a test drive, I made a deal with Sandy on the second visit. Sandy was very knowledgeable and professional. The whole process was so smooth and pleasant, no hassle, no haggling. I would highly recommend Gerald, especially Sandy, if you are looking for a Subaru. More
