WILL NEVER PERFORM BUSINESS WITH GERALD KIA AGAIN. PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING FROM GERALD KIA OF NAPERVILLE. THIS IS AN HONEST POST BASED ON MY NEW CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE. WILL NEVER PERFORM BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP AGAIN. I wrote this review to inform the public of my new car purchase experience from Gerald Kia of Naperville on January 23, 2016. It has been quite some time since the purchase date but I feel it is very important for consumers to be aware of the unprofessional sales tactics conducted by Gerald Kia of Naperville. I’m not one to write reviews or to complain but simply want people to be informed of this unfortunate experience and hope it can help prevent it from happening to other consumers. Prior to my arrival at Gerald Kia of Naperville I had been working with Tremain White (Online Sales Manager) by email since December 2015 for the most aggressive quote on a new 2015 Optima SXL. Tremain and Melissa Laxton (both online sales manager) provided me the same quote for this exact vehicle with a sales price of $29, 407.00 before tax, title, license and doc fee. Their quote included the $2500 manufacture rebate and dealer discounts for year-end savings on the outing model. To confirm the sales price I emailed Tremain several times to make sure the price was 100% accurate and the dealership would honor the price without any last minute changes. I also inquired about my eligibility to receive the $500 loyalty rebate for current Kia Optima owners and Tremain mentioned as long as I’m eligible for the rebate, it would be taken off the sales price of $29,407 bringing the price to $28,907. Tremain also confirmed on 1/23/16 the sales price is accurate and the vehicle does include a remote start system for $28,907.00. The final purchase price Tremain quoted for this vehicle was eventually honored at the dealership; however, the available Optima SXL did not include the remote start as promised and the sales consultant was extremely unprofessional (Please keep reading). Upon arrival to Gerald Kia Tremain instructed me to meet with a general sales manager and they will be aware of this deal, but this was not the case. As soon as my wife and I arrived we were greeted by Adrijan Tairi. I introduced myself and immediately informed Adrian I had been working with Tremain White via email and was to meet with a general sales manager. I asked Adrian if he was a sales manager and he replied, “Yes” and brought us to his desk. Without thinking twice I assumed Adrijan was a sales manager since he stated he was, but later figured out he was not after reading his business card on his desk titled sales consultant. I provided Adrijan with documentation for the price of $28,907 that Tremain had quoted me on. Adrijan left his desk and came back with a price written on paper exceeding $30,000 (before tax, title, license, doc fee). After I again showed him the email documentation I brought he left his desk a second time. At this point my frustration began to increase as the whole idea of my time and energy spent talking to Tremain the past 2 months was to avoid the back and forth negotiation at the dealership. I walked over to where Adrian was located and questioned if he truly was a sales manager and he stated “No, I’m sorry.” I informed him he had 5 minutes to match the quote from Tremain or my wife and I would leave. Adrijan met us back at his desk and provided us the sales price of $29,407.00 but it did not include the $500 loyalty rebate which was mentioned several times by me and highlighted in the printed email. He explained the price reflected all discounts and both rebates ($2500 rebate & $500 loyalty rebate) but it clearly did not. I extended my hand to Adrijan and said thank you for your time and proceeded to leave. Adrijan questioned why I was leaving and said “I fought for you to get this price”. Adrian’s remark was clearly false as well as an INSULT since I worked with Tremain White for the sales price. I was so disgusted with our experience my wife and I put our coats on and proceeded to leave. After exiting the dealership a sales manager by the name of Gino Tairi stopped us outside by our car and asked what is wrong. I explained to Gino the sales price of the vehicle received from Adrian did not include the $500 loyalty rebate, remote start and Adrijan LIED that he was a sales manager. (The Sales manager completely ignored the fact his employee lied about professional positon). Gino Tairi reviewed the printed email conversation I had brought between Tremain and I. Gino said he would include the $500 rebate to the discounted price of $29,407 bringing it down to $28,907.00. I informed Gino that the remote start is supposed to be included in the sales price as stated in the email by Tremain White. This is the direct response from Tremain White in his email on 1/23/16 at 10:17am: “The pricing you’ve disclosed is the price that includes remote start on the 2015 Kia Optima SX-L White with black leather Nappa interior. What time are you liking to satisfy your new vehicle purchase today.” Gino Tairi honored the sales price and I decided to proceed with the purchase of the vehicle. I then met with Adrian again and the sales price was corrected (Should have requested different sales representative). Since the only vehicle with remote start was a dealer demo (with at least 3,000 miles already on it) and having one installed would be an additional charge for me (exceeding the sale price of $29,407), I opted out having the remote start system installed at time of sale. Gino said the remote start would have to be an additional charge of $599.00 and that’s the best he can do. I somehow proceeded with the purchase and finalized the required paperwork. I should had left at this point and never purchased the vehicle but my mindset was elsewhere. I also found it disheartening that I was NOT approached by ANY SALES MANAGER at the end of our purchase, to apologize for the frustration we had to endure and to thank my wife and I for our business. Based on my experience at Gerald Kia of Naperville I hope one would understand my frustration and why I took time to make write this review. I have now taken my free time from work and away from my family to express my dissatisfaction about this dealership. At first I was thrilled to purchase a brand new car. However after my negative encounter with the employees from Gerald Kia of Naperville, this has drained the enjoyment out of this experience. I have also forwarded my complaint to Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of Illinois. After reflecting on this disheartening experience I realized my biggest mistake was not walking away after being lied to by the sales consultant Adrijan Tairi. There were several red flags through this unbearable experience which my business should have been taken elsewhere. No one deserves to be misled, lied to and treated unfairly when buying a new car. If you ever end up in a situation like this, please walk away and bring your business elsewhere. Do your research and read reviews about car dealerships from multiple consumer review sources. Also, review the sales representatives’ last names as politics most likely played a role in my experience. Since I submitted this review/complaint to the general sales manager Anthony Triner, I have received a remote start system as promised by the online sales manager at no additional charge. However, the process and poor attention to detail performed by the auto technicians left my vehicle damaged and not repaired properly on two separate occasions since my initial purchase. The damage was finally repaired but as you can imagine this has made for the most unpleasant purchase experience ever. More

What a difference in a knowledgable and personable sales associate he was. I had visited another dealership closer to my home and I seemed to know more about the car then the associate there. Quentin was not pushy, went over all the important details about my car, and answered all my questions. I purchased a 2017 Kia Sorento and love it. He really goes the extra mile to make your purchase a pleasurable one. How lucky you are to have this gem working with you. I see why Gerald Kia has such a high dealer rating. I will definitely recommend Quentin Stanley to friends and family when making a car purchase. More

The 2017 Sportage spoke for itself, but we kept going back to how much we enjoyed Quentin's personality. It really played a part in our choice. We would highly recommend Q to anyone in the market for a car. Brian Wheeler was a big help in the final discussions, was not pushy, and made us feel comfortable with the final sale price. He was a blast to work with and his attitude was very refreshing and down to earth. He answered all my questions and understood our situation. In the end, my wife drove away with a Kia Optima that she loves. Q made her day and made the whole car buying process fun. I came back in 8/15 to look at a Cadenza Q and I had previously discussed. After sitting down with him for about 7 minutes I was buying another car. Q and his management gave me an offer that I couldn't refuse. It is refreshing to see that there are still reps out there that value the customer over the deal. There was no pressure from Q or management throughout the entire 2 buying processes. I would highly recommend Q to anyone looking to purchase a car. More
