This was the first new car we have purchased. We came to Gary Rome because of TV advertising and the fact that Hyundai is offering some the best incentives in the car industry. They did mediocre service on a warranty repair - did not investigate the root cause of the problem. When the problem occurred again, the car was out of warranty and we were hung out to dry. We got the runaround to call Hyundai Consumer Affairs, who told us it was not their problem,that we would have to deal with the dealership. I have called a few times to get a response from them and did not get a call back. I did get a call back from consumer affairs that Gary Rome Hyundai would not do anything for us. This was a problem with the alternator and caused the car to die on the highway two times, a very dangerous thing to have happen. Now, I am left with a car that needs further repairs to assure that this won't happen again. I will not deal with Gary Rome Hyundai or Hyundai in general from now on. Addendum Response to Dealer Response --- 11/15/2012 Although I understand that the dealer does not feel they have any responsibility toward this due to warranty expiration, I feel it is a very poor way of doing business. It guarantees there will be no customer loyalty. We also own a Nissan and they have taken care of us above and beyond the call of duty. We have had no problems with the engine, alternator, or other major mechanical issues. It is the same year and almost same mileage as the Hyundai Veracruz. I have reduced the ratings on price and customer service to the lowest possible. Mr. Rome preaches putting the customer first in his commercials. That is somewhat ironic, based on my experience. More
