I dealt with Russell Seward and Mike Gurley when I bought my 2009 Toyota Camry in August 2010. I appreciated their knowledge and professionalism at that time. He took his time with explaining the details of the vehicle. I felt no pressure from Mr. Seward to buy a vehicle. Mr. Gurley was also very helpful when he explained the loan application, the terms and agreement for the sell of the vehicle. I had scheduled a test drive of a 2012 Highlander at I had scheduled a test drive of a 2012 Highlander at Toyota of North Charlotte for my wife at 10am Saturday morning (Dec. 17th). I woke up early tha I had scheduled a test drive of a 2012 Highlander at Toyota of North Charlotte for my wife at 10am Saturday morning (Dec. 17th). I woke up early that Saturday morning to review the latest inventories of four Toyota dealers I had traded emails with earlier that week. I was loking for a 4WD Blizzard Pearl, sand interior Limited with a few specific options. I did not want to hear about what was on the lot. Nothing had changed with the inventories and then I realized I had not contacted Toyota West in Statesville, NC that I drive by a couple of times a month. About 6:15am I sent an email to the dealership from their web page and then fixed a pot of coffee. By the time I had gotton back to my computer, I had received a reply from Anita Franks at 6:33am wanting to confirm contact information. At 7:05am Anita sent me an email saying she was out of the office and that an assoicate, Jerry Lambert, would be in contact soon. I then checked the inventory of Toyota West and found a Highlander in transit. It had extras I did not want and required options I wanted. Well, by 9am Jerry and I had talked and discussed the Highlander in Transit. That's when I learned about the Port accessory assembly operation. I scheduled the 10am test drive with Jerry and cancelled the test drive with the other dealer. The test drive went well and my wife was pleased. By noon we had a deal with the options we wanted. A couple of dealer options that were ordered would not be installed and our options would be. Toyota West accepted a Truecar.com price and offered me the trade price I wanted on my 2007 Toyota 4Runner. It was all too easy compared to many past arm westling events I have had with car dealers over the years! Jerry Lambert is low key and very professional. He displayed a passion for delivering what we wanted. Before I retired, I was responsible for numerous electrical distribution manufacturing plants that shipped $900 million in sales the year I retired. All employees knew the importance of having a customer oriented mindset, whether it was in sales, engineeing, manufacturing or service. We became the best in our industry which gave our businesses a significant competitive edge. If I was still in the business, I would be thinking about hiring Jerry. He is a valuable asset to Toyota West. And let's not forgot Anita who was monitoring her computer at 6am while on vacation. Her efforts that morning delivered a high potiential sale to Toyota West. I am sure I will tell friends this story numerous times and it may just deliver the dealership another sale. Price was key, which is why I bought here. They beat the other four area dealers by $500+.
