I used the online scheduling system to schedule "Oil Change/Quick Service." After a brief wait, a service representative greeted me and asked what I was there for. I said, "I had a 9:30 appointment." Sh Change/Quick Service." After a brief wait, a service representative greeted me and asked what I was there for. I said, "I had a 9:30 appointment." She then asked what the appointment was for. To which I stated, "Oil Change and Tire Rotation." She acknowledged what I said and asked that I leave the keys in the vehicle and they would contact me when it was done. After a couple of hours, I was contacted regarding some dirty filters discovered during the multipoint inspection (cabin air & engine air). The service advisor asked if I wanted them replaced for $143.90. I obviously said no and purchased higher-quality filters for a total of $24.74. About 30 min. later I received an invoice via email without any indication from the service advisor that my vehicle was done. Additionally, I noticed that there was no charge for tire rotation and questioned the service advisor about this. Her reply was, "Your appointment was for an oil change." Keep in mind, that the only option on the online scheduler for express services, e.g. Oil Change, Tire Rotation, and State Inspections, is "Oil Change/Quick Service." I then asked if my vehicle was ready for pick-up and was told it was. I went to pick up my vehicle and while driving it the one mile to my destination noted the engine intake sounded louder than normal. After opening the hood I noted that the engine air filter compartment was not securely re-fastened after inspection. So, in review, I was asked to purchase additional services with an 83% markup, not all the services that I actually requested were even done, and the services that were done were done poorly. It's really disheartening that there isn't a single Ford dealership in the City of Austin that has a competent service department. More
