Billy McGrath and Kevin Cross turned a point of frustration with an in warantee failure of my VW Passatt into a positive event by the speed, confidence and support I was given during this time. M frustration with an in warantee failure of my VW Passatt into a positive event by the speed, confidence and support I was given during this time. My car had to be towed to the dealer (drive shaft joint failure) on Sunday and first thing Monday morning (before I had a chance to call), I was notified they had received the car and what they had diagnosed. I was notified via e-mail and phone call letting me know progress until the car was fully repaired on Wed. I really appreciated the proactive update and the speed with which this event was handled. This is definately an experience that could have been negative for VW and the dealership, but was turned positive by these individuals. More
Recently took my car to Colonial late on a Saturday afternoon (with no appointment) as I had a slow leak from a rear tire which needed to be fixed or replaced. The service I received was simply fantast afternoon (with no appointment) as I had a slow leak from a rear tire which needed to be fixed or replaced. The service I received was simply fantastic. Adam Peschke, Service Advisor, had me back on the road within one hour after repairing my puncture, rotating the tires (he pointed out a small bulge on one of the front tires and had that tire moved to the rear) AND performing the 10k mile service to save me coming back another day! Could the service get any better…yes…. as he handed back the keys he informed me the tire repair was free of charge. The level of service, courtesy and flexibility was beyond reproach which is why I have rated them so highly. Adam will continue to get my business. More
I am having major work done to my 2010 VW Routan due to water damage to the engine and he has gone above and beyond to help me with every step of the way from the insurance coverage to the rental they are water damage to the engine and he has gone above and beyond to help me with every step of the way from the insurance coverage to the rental they are providing during this long process due to back order on the parts. He calls daily with updates and to me he has the best customer service skills I have seen anywhere. He is an asset to Colonial volkswagon. I will buy from colonial in the future due to the outstanding service they provide. More
Bill McGrath (who works in the service department) is the poster boy for cutomer service. I had bought my R32 from another dealer and happen to bump into at the local bank. I told him about my recent purchas poster boy for cutomer service. I had bought my R32 from another dealer and happen to bump into at the local bank. I told him about my recent purchase and that I was very excited. I told him the milage about the car. He asked me if the VW dealership had serviced the DSG (as it was necessary to keep the extended warranty)for my new car. I called the other VW dealership and asked. Bill was right, and I had the other dealership fix the problem. Bill (on his day off)call up his own dealership to have a copy of the 40k DSG service memo ready for me to pick up just in case the other dealership had any issues with my request. Bill really went out of his way to ensure that I was covered. I will continue to take my VW R32 to Colonial VW as long as people like Bill are looking out for me. More

Customer Service performed very sloppy work and simply does not listen to their customers requests. When attempting to get the issue resolved, they simply do not respond. does not listen to their customers requests. When attempting to get the issue resolved, they simply do not respond. More
I was in having my car serviced and was approached by sales person Chris Tattrie. He was very courteous asking if I needed any assistance. I informed him I was having my car serviced and he asked me a sales person Chris Tattrie. He was very courteous asking if I needed any assistance. I informed him I was having my car serviced and he asked me a couple questions about it. He informed me that due to the record breaking snowfall in January the dealships was working hard to write deals. He was not at all pushy. Very professional, very polite. He gave me his card and said now might be a great time to move into a current year model. Having been a sales manager manager in the 80's I knew well how this historic snow fall in January would be hurting business. I came back on the last day of January and Chris, and I along with the help of his support staff settled on a deal and I moved up from my 2006 Passat to a new Jetta as my wife missed our 2003 Jetta because it was easier to park than the larger vehicle. This is the third VW I have aquired from Colonial in the last five years. I can not say enough about the dealership. They also have a great service department that fights hard with Corporate VW on behalf of their customers. They also do great work. Five stars is too few for this dealership and salesperson Chris Tattrie. Sincerely, Jim McElhiney More
I went in for a minor service issue for my 2009 Jetta and came out with a New 2011 Leased Jetta. The entire sales team were great. They all worked as a group to make the deal come together to fit my budget. came out with a New 2011 Leased Jetta. The entire sales team were great. They all worked as a group to make the deal come together to fit my budget. No pushiness, games, or hard sell tactics, just a genuine desire to get me what I wanted at a price I was comfortable with.Definately a win win situation!!! I pick up my car Monday and I am thrilled. Chris Allen Tattric was my primary sales associate and did a great job. I found out during the course of negotiating the deal that Chris was new to the dealership and I was his first sale. Congratulations Chris on a job well done. May there be many more sales in your future at Colonial Volkswagon. More
Unprofessional staff. I purchased my vehicle new from Bill, the owner, and have taken it into the service department when problems have arisen. I have been noticing my car will shake at higher speeds. Bill, the owner, and have taken it into the service department when problems have arisen. I have been noticing my car will shake at higher speeds. I have owned many cars and I know when a car does something "that doesn't quiet feel right" you need to check it out. Especially on a NEW CAR with less than 10k mi. When I took my car in to be looked at, it was as if the service department wanted nothing to do with me or the vehicle. When I drove to the dealership (I live 10mi away) the car did not shake. When Bill M. asked me if the car was shaking on the drive to the dealership, I said "no". Without hesitation, Bill told me with attitude it's probably the road and said there's nothing we can do. He left me with the feeling of "I'm an idiot" which is inexcusable. I have been in various service departments in my lifetime...Toyota, Ford, GM you name it. It seems they all get the picture your dealership is obviously missing. That is professional service & staff. I understand the car was not shaking when I drove over, but then again I live 10mi away and do not go over 40mph on my way there. Bill should've said, "We will take the car and see if we can find out a problem, if any". And if there was not a problem, ok, great! But how do you know if you do not take a look? Maybe it was a gimmick and you were just waiting for something to really break and let the warranty pay for something "larger" that would utilize VW warranty services that would be worth a xxxx. Maybe, maybe not. The major concern I have is the fact that if my wheels came off or something disastrous happened after I left the dealership and after Bill said, "there's nothing I can do?!" Who would be at greater liability? I don't give a xxxx about your dealership, but I do care about the lives of the persons in my vehicle and anyone else who could be impacted. Bill, I suggest you start examining your answer "There's nothing I can do". It would be appropriate to give yourself more credit than that as a trained service professional who has made a great career for himself and has worked for Colonial VW for over 10 years. The automotive industry deserves better and I believe you can do better. I hope you will truly read my feedback and understand where I am coming from. My finance' and I have already made the decision not to use your service and sales department anymore. I am writing this for your benefit ONLY. I hope you take my feedback seriously. Good luck in the future. Joe 205-265-0530 More
