Bad Transmission design, engine knocking, and they know it I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. I purchased a new Jeep Cherokee, and was happy with my purchase...Until I hit around 8000 miles. Then th I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. I purchased a new Jeep Cherokee, and was happy with my purchase...Until I hit around 8000 miles. Then the problems began. Of course when it rains it pours, and of the numerous problems I visited the dealer: the HVAC was fixed(not something I had issues with), radio fixed, the found no problems with the other issues I reported, including the "F.ng"engine noise as noted on invoice dated Jan 2017. 8145 miles on vehicle. Vehicle continued intermittent problems, then come April 2017, now 11800 miles on vehicle, trans light came on, then vehicle stopped while driving 70 mph on highway 75, with my 3 year old nephew in car with me in traffic. Returned to dealer, they replaced Trans control module, valve body, and wiring. Also reported engine issues, which again they found no problem. Continued to have problems, and returned again in Oct. 2017, now battery failed load test, still found no "knocking noise" found, no trans. problems found, etc. "surprised?" Rode with service tech, while riding with him, he felt battery was causing trans. to down shift and jerk, and 2.4 liter engines are just noisy. He said it was normal and compared to other 2016, 2.4 liter models. I requested to test drive a comparable model to hear the noise, when we returned he walked away and did not present another model or return. In addition they ordered a new radio as the original one failed. Was told radio was in, returned for install, again reported transmission slipping and jerking, and engine noise, and was told those 9 speed transmissions is normal, and refused to write a service order. Was called by Rick, that the new radio had locked up and was not working, he then told me to return the loaner while they order another radio. I called and left messages for GM and Service director to call me back regarding my concerns, and was passed off back to Rick who called me and told me to keep loaner until Monday, and there was no reason to go over his head. Leaving messages for the GM, and never receiving calls, I later asked for a number for the district manager. GM now decided to call me. She explained that they had canceled the order on the radio, and had not received it. ???, I asked, then what did they put in my car? Also explaining the extent of other issues with trans. and engine. She told me of the faulty, jerking transmissions, and explained that she and a friend as well, had the same vehicles and had to get rid of them for that reason, and that Chrysler was aware of it, but did not consider it to be defective, however that Chrysler did discontinue use of that transmission. We discussed options and she was going to call me back, today, Sat. 11/18/17. Received several calls from a finance person named James, who thinks I'm his "Bro" wanting me to put in a credit application for a new vehicle, to help get me out of that one. We went back and forth, and I told them I expect to know what can be done without running my credit, or getting me in deeper that I already am. His offer was a car or a downgrade to a Renegade. Our final conversation I asked him to have GM call me, which he said he would tell her right now. That, along with her telling me last night that she would call me today, the only person I have heard from was one that thought I was his "bro" or "dude". Don't recommend at all.. Update. Following conversations regarding the solution to transmission problems is to trade out for a lesser valued vehicle, they called me with an update on 11/22/17. I was told that a specialist had driven my vehicle and found nothing wrong with transmission. It was operating normally. They also installed a new radio to replace the non functioning one. Now, I have been told by Rick and the GM that the jerking and stuttering and slow to shift is a known issue from Chrysler and it is normal. Picked up vehicle, paperwork shows on 11/17/17, radio installed, 1.1 hour.Multi point inspection .01 minute. Road test to check transmission. Operating as designed. Vehicle miles in 23319, vehicle miles out, 23319...That was a short road test AND multi point inspection.. More

I was approaching the end of my lease and was deciding which model I wanted going forward. I went back to see Callan at the McKinney dealership and he worked tirelessly trying to meet my needs. He was extremely responsive and worked long hours to try to achieve my goals, While I didn’t end up with another Jeep, I highly recommend Callan, He is professional, compassionate and will do his best to seal a deal! I was unable to get my vehicle inspected because of the code. They promised me a loan car.. when I got there they couldn’t find any info saying I would get a loan car so they had to take me all the way to enterprise to rent one. Enterprise charged me $50.00 to rent . Called me on the way home and said the recalls were done and they were going to do something other than smoke test to fix code. I was perplexed by that. Went home ( I live 75 miles away) then they said it was Ready .. I said I couldn’t pick it up until Monday. They said that they only loan cars out for 1 day for recalls. I said can you go ahead and do inspection and they said I would have to drive it for at least 50 miles first. I went in the next morning and picked up truck drove it home and code came back on! Then Enterprise accidentally charged me another $50.00! And said it would take at least three days to get it back .. they also charged me 13.00 for incidentals! The truck repair cost me 90.00 for nothing. And wasted my Saturday picking it up driving 150 miles. Irritating. Of course they said bring it back in .. forget it ! More

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AS A CUSTOMER! ABSOLUTELY DEGRADING By Far My Worst Experience Ever! Absolutely Degrading and Dishonorable! WILLING TO PUT ME IN CAR THAT CAN CATCH FIRE OR COMPLETELY STOP ON BUSY HIGHWA By Far My Worst Experience Ever! Absolutely Degrading and Dishonorable! WILLING TO PUT ME IN CAR THAT CAN CATCH FIRE OR COMPLETELY STOP ON BUSY HIGHWAY, possibly resulting in fatal accident....(LESS THAN ONE STAR) Guy name Don Taylor informed me about a recall on my alternator and insisted Chrysler Jeep Dodge City of Mckinney keep my car to repair it (His suggestion and idea). Told me to get rental on dealers behave. Days later he want to charge me for service $1000+ but I declined. Then I was told to come get my recalled vehicle without repairs, plus my rental was not covered. After attempting to drive my car home, it had additional issues prior to leaving it (Won't accelerate over 30mph). The dealership gave me a loaner only to illegally threaten me to report the car stolen. Service manager Matt Lewis claims he couldn't get in contact with me but stated his staff contact and talk to me the day prior. Matt Lewis hangs up in my face. After I dropped the loaner off, Chrysler Jeep Dodge City of Mckinney, as well as customer service never contacted me nor provide me with means of transportation. I have not been able to work for almost 2 weeks now. Customer service also hung up in my face. I've never been degraded and treated sooo poorly before. LESS THAN ONE STAR rating More

I had the car towed and the service department took in first thing Monday morning. The repair seems to have gone well but I haven't driven it much since the fix. The problem I'm trying to wrap my head around is the cost of the alternator, 642.00 for an alternator seems quite excessive. the entire repair with labor was 945.00 to replace an alternator. Come on. There is no way an alternator is 642 dollars. It's also the same type failure that has been recalled on 2011 chargers for shorting alternators. The service was good, the car was fixed but the price wow. 1000.00 for an alternator replacement. that price also includes the money i paid for car rental which i didn't have to get except was told the part wouldn't come in until the next day. So it was great that the car was fixed sooner but I rented a car I didn't have to. So in the future if I have a choice and my car is not completely dead as it was this time, I will take it somewhere else. Not because of service but because of gauging on parts. Shame on you dodge city McKinney for charging 642.00 for an alternator that should probably be on the recall list. I contacted Dodge corporate and relayed this story to them as well. More

Ok, not the dealership's fault. I'm going to do the repair myself, because $425 dollars for what should be two hours of shop time is rediculous. But then, despite the fact I had TOLD the dealership what code it was throwing and why we were bringing it in, they wanted to charge us $120 just for reading the codes!!! I was floored. Rick cut the price down to $60, but honestly I consider this to be unscrupulous business practices. I *already knew* what was wrong with the vehicle. I recommend you don't take your vehicle to this shop for even an oil change. More

Roberto Lozano found the car I wanted within minutes, C.J. not only found the finance for the car very quickly, but even lowered my car payment. Thanks for the great car experience for the 2nd time! BIG SUGGESTION: I bought GAP insurance for the 2nd time because after my 2nd car was totaled, I'm only in a new car again because the GAP insurance made sure I wasn't upside down for $8,000. Buy GAP insurance, no matter what! More

I mentioned that my complaint should have been handled by warranty, but could not convince the service person. After some research, I called and found out there was a recall that I had not received. Why was I going to be charged for a service when there was a recall? Good thing I researched or I would have been charged the service price plus whatever else they came up with. More
