"Fantastic Dealership" This is my 6th. vehicle purchased from Charlie's Dealership, my second Toyota Tundra, and as always it was a pleasurable experience. Pressed for time This is my 6th. vehicle purchased from Charlie's Dealership, my second Toyota Tundra, and as always it was a pleasurable experience. Pressed for time, we did some basic paperwork and returned later to finish up. All the paperwork was ready and Travis (as always) makes that mound of paperwork as painless as possible to get through. With the trust I have in Charlie's I actually bought this vehicle sight unseen, as Jeff had taken it home. It was a good choice though. I returned the next day to pick it up and was pleasantly surprised. Jaret, my salesman, was excellent, and thoroughly went through the operation of all the equipment included. Not only does Charlie's have an excellent sales staff, the service department is another reason I buy my Vehicles from them. Always pleasant to deal with and the work is top notch. New 2016 Toyota Corolla LE I just bought my new 2016 Toyota Corolla LE at Charlie's Toyota in Augusta, ME... I was recently in the service waiting area when I ventured into the I just bought my new 2016 Toyota Corolla LE at Charlie's Toyota in Augusta, ME... I was recently in the service waiting area when I ventured into the showroom, saw the evergreen Corolla, and fell in love: what a beautiful car! The team of salespersons is amazing at Charlie's Toyota: everyone is cordial and friendly, not pushy at all. My sales consultant was Jaret Hopkins who was informative, helpful, and most of all, he put me at ease and did not make me feel rushed to buy. No question was too ridiculous for him and he focused on what was important to me. Jaret was also very knowledgeable about the differences between my last Toyota Corolla (2010) and the 2016 model. When I finally decided to purchase my new vehicle, Jaret was patient in giving me a tutorial in the car so I could master the new high-tech features; he assured me he would be available at any other time if I had additional questions. Jaret made sure that the buying process was quick and efficient which I greatly appreciated. He is definitely an asset to the Charlie's Toyota Team! There are many reasons I continue to buy cars at Charlie's Toyota and to patronize their Service Center. First, I am an overly nervous customer and the sales staff is patient with me. Secondly, the service center also offers the same friendly, efficient, trustworthy, and high quality service. Thirdly, I like that both service and sales personnel have been there for years allowing customers to establish a more trusting relationship with them, at least that has been the case for me. Lastly, Charlie Shuman's sense of values and beliefs is reflected in his community involvement over many years... I have met Charlie twice and both times he thanked me and others for our patronage: that sense of gratitude is appreciated by his customers. In conclusion, thanks to the service team, Doug, Paul, associates, and mechanics, for their long-time, excellent service on my multiple Toyota Corollas. Thanks to the sales team, Jeff, Nick, Jaret, Travis, and the other associates for their excellent customer service care. Thank you, Charlie Shuman for all that you do in our community and for hiring such well-trained, personable and nice people! The best to all of you! More

Friendly service, but NOT out to give you a real deal. You will experience the typical dealership games at this place. They offered me a price on my trade in which wasn't necessarily a bad price, but it wasn't good either. Not considering what I needed to pay off my current loan. They came up with monthly payment figures that I already said 3 times before I cannot afford. So then they came back a second time, offered me 2,000 more on my trade-in (which seemed fair enough) but wouldn't budge on the sticker price of the new vehicle. I asked to see the invoice which they were noticeably uncomfortable giving to me. As they handed me the invoice the guy said "it won't make any difference anyway". How sketchy is that? Anyhow, I see what the dealership 'paid' for it, knowing that there are dealer holdbacks and they'd still make thousands even if they gave it to me for invoice price. Nope, they flat out said no. I walked out, having wasted 2 hours of my time. They called me later in the evening, as I expected they would. Tried more tactics to make it seem like I wouldn't get a better deal anywhere else and used various other pressuring sales techniques. Be smart about buying your car. Do research, ask questions, ask to see the invoice, don't be afraid to walk out. Because eventually you will find that deal that works for you. Charlies Toyota of Augusta, Maine does not treat their customers 'like family' as they say. They want to charge you way too much money to buy a vehicle. More

Finance guy launched into his warranty / add-ons schpiel before I could stop him, but really did try hard to get to a number I would accept. Price offered on the new vehicle was better than other dealers I had checked out, again might have gotten better by haggling with the others but preferred getting the lower initial price (and less hassle) from Charlie's. Sales team seems like very decent people and were comfortable to work with, despite knowing they had a job to do (make money) that was the exact opposite of my objective (save money). Bottom line: good people, bit better initial offer on the new car, but otherwise a pretty typical dealer experience. More

Do you see the potential for lots and lots of drama here? Although I have truly enjoyed my Tacoma for 15 years, thanks in large part to my daughter and son-in-saw, I was in a situation. The decision to stay with Toyota was not a difficult decision. I have learned and appreciate the dependability of the company. To buy a vehicle from Charlie's in Augusta, Me. was not all that difficult either, not because of the sales staff, although I have to express my appreciation for their patience and helpfulness in this once in 15 year purchase, (Thank you Steve Harris), but I've known and trusted the mechanics at Charlie's for the inspections and oil changes.
