However, our most recent purchase/non-purchase was 100% a yo-yo scam. We gave a trade-in and signed the contract. Approximately 45 days later, we were told their finance office wanted to redo the contract...now they want down payment? A higher interest rate? I bought both of my children’s first car from there. I do however promise you that I will never buy a vehicle again from this dealership. xxxx shame. More

Treated us like crud We recently traded in our lease and purchased a new Clarity. First off, I called the morning before we came in and talked with a salesperson, I think his name was Eric but I’m not 100% sure on that. In that conversation I told him we were at the end of our lease and we wanted options on either purchasing the vehicle or trading it in for a Clarity. He set up an appointment for us to come in at 1pm that day. This part was important to me because I am disabled and didn’t want to be at the dealership longer than we needed to be. BUT when we arrived at 1 we were shuffled off to the first salesperson available, Janette, who knew nothing of what we had called about. The car was also not easily available, and she absentmindedly set off in a track around the parking lot looking for it with us in tow until my husband pointed out that I was disabled and that we would appreciate it if she brought it to the front by the handicap spot we parked in. I initially brushed that off, but Janette had opened the door for us, she saw us parking in the handicap spot, she should have known that we couldn’t walk around the parking lot. Then when we finally test drove the car, Janette seemed to know less about the Clarity than we did. Which makes for a frustrating time when we are trying to decide if we want an electric car. When we got back from the test drive there still hadn’t been any work done on getting me the financing numbers... the whole reason for our visit. It was an hour after we got there before we even started talking numbers. We did end up buying the car that day, but since I’ve still been plagued by that day. Janette called to check in on how it was going, but then couldn’t understand when I tried to explain that she had programmed the key fob wrong (I assume she is tech-challenged) and I got another call the next day about the same thing... this time from Theresa with an ominous message asking me not to fill out the online survey until I can mark all 10’s... I don’t know how I can ever mark all 10’s. This wasn’t a pleasant experience for me. Almost a week after we turned in our lease, I got a call from Lupita (I have no idea what department she’s in at Chapman) asking me when I was going to turn in the car. And to top it off, as our temporary plates were expiring this week and we were struggling because AZDOT sent a letter saying that we were being fined because the Civic was no longer insured (even though we returned it weeks ago), and our licensense plate is MIA for the Clarity, Vincent (the finance guy at the dealership) is smug enough to brush us off and tell us it’s our problem not his. So, yep... I love my Honda... but I will NEVER buy one from Chapman again, and suggest you don’t either. More

We also research pricing each time and compare them to Phoenix. They always match or beat pricing everywhere, including Phoenix. I strongly recommend salesman Yousef and Sales Manager Ashur. In Finance we recommend Albert Camacho. Together these gentlemen are the best of the best. I can’t begin to express how professional, knowledgeable and just plain nice these guys are. Combined we have purchased at least 20 plus cars and never found the process to be ‘a pleasure’. That is until we started buying from Chapman. These guys at Chapman just make the process easy. Kudos to the owner and management for recognizing, hiring and promoting great people like Ashur, Yousef and Albert. More

Worst dealership I’ve worked with in Tucson I was buying a car for a friend. We settled on a used Honda Civic and I told the salesman we did not want any add ons. Before signing the contract, it I was buying a car for a friend. We settled on a used Honda Civic and I told the salesman we did not want any add ons. Before signing the contract, it turns out there was a $300 charge for nitrogen in the tires and window etching. Seriously, window etching on a 20 year old Honda. The sales manager refused to take the charge off, stating they didn’t have room to discount the car (this was a 20 year old Honda with a KBB value of around $2000) I knew I was overpaying but not having to deal with a private sale is sometimes worth it. I was prepared to write a check to pay for the car (about $5500) but instead we got up and drove across the street to Royal Mini where I purchased a 2011 Toyota Yaris for my friend and wrote a check for $9300. I’ve purchased two Jaguar XJL’s from Royal as well as a Cadillac, a Mini Cooper and a Kia. I’ve always been treated well at Royal so I will not be buying a new vehicle from any Chapman dealership ever. I usually purchase a new vehicle every two years and I will be in the market again in about 6 months. A dealership that tries to force you to buy something you explicitly stated you did not want isn’t a dealership that has your best interest in mind. Avoid this place and shop for elsewhere. There are plenty of reputable dealers in Tucson that will treat you with less contempt. More
