We apologize about any misunderstanding. Our goal is to provide the best possible service in a timely manner. The payoff information was provided to us at the time of sale. The terms of the new vehicle were based on the provided payoff. Unfortunately the payoff provided by your son didn’t include fees charged by a different manufacture's leasing company. We notified your son immediately. All additional fees were charged by the leasing company from the previous lease. I would be happy to work with you or your son on a new or certified BMW. It is ridiculous that Chapman can try to issue a sincere apology for a "misunderstanding", yet find a way to blame my son, adding insult to injury to this negative Chapman BMW experience. Not being the professional car dealer, all my son could do was provide his most recent lease statement. On the other hand, it WAS Chapman BMW's responsibility to do due diligence in getting the final payout figures and fees from the lessor on his trade, and not my son's role or responsibility. Moreover, my son, in choosing to complete the transaction two days after the agreement was reached, despite being pressured by the dealership, gave the dealership an extra two days to confirm and verify the final figures and fees. This was obviously the dealership's incompetence. As for you "notifying my son immediately", I would not agree that "immediate" is almost 24 hrs. after he took delivery of the car, or three days after the transaction agreement.
