Andrew answered my questions and my concerns about the legitimacy of his offer because at first I suspected it was a scam response to my Craigslist posting of my car. Therefore that part was great. However there was information that was incorrect that caused me concern during the pickup. Andrew said in his text that the carvana associate would have a flatbed truck, a notary, and a certified check. The pickup person had none of these three things. She did not have a flatbed, she was not a notary herself nor brought any notary with her, and the check she provided was a business check not a certified or cashier's check. During the pickup we went over to a Wells Fargo to verify the validity of the business check which was issued by Wells Fargo. In the branch the manager was called and after looking at the check they could not guarantee the validity of the check. they were able to verify that it looked like the checks routing number and bank account number were correct but it still could have been a forgery, they warned. The only reason I continued with the transaction was because I had set up the appointment through the carvanha website and so I knew it was legitimate. More
