W The absolute worst place to buy a camper. We found a camper online we liked. Called to be sure it was in stock since we live over 2.5 hours away. We get there and it mysteriously was sold in that time. (Was never available) [bait/switch #1] After looking at others that were not what we traveled here for, they suddenly can get us a newer model shipped for $1000 more. [Bait/switch #2] We asked if they can get the newer model price closer to the 2018 one we came for. After the sales manager came out and talked vague circles for a while, they say they can get the 2019 for the 2018 price. We ask twice since this seems too good to be true. Sales manager confirms. We go over all the financing(more circles)...couldn't even give us an approximate interest rate. Ok fair enough, it's Saturday and we understand. We start filling out paperwork and signing things. We have our card out for the downpayment and looking over the paperwork, I notice a very small '18 in front of the name of the camper and on top of the form writing. We asked if it was the length and what do you know!? It means 2018!? So we negotiate for a new 2019, and they tried to pull a fast one and hope we didn't notice it was a 2018 instead of a 2019! [Bait/switch #3] The sales manager came out saying they need to keep the lights on and they wont make money and basically scolding me while I was getting up to leave. Sales manager is an arrogant xxxxx. We ended up going to Wagners RV in Manitowoc and getting a interest rate right away, they had the camper we looked at online, and everything is included in the sticker price. No extra delivery fee, setup, and other extra fees like Camping World which added over $1500 to the sticker price. We spent $2000 more here and got much better service than the big Corporate Camping World. More

I bought a brand new 2018 Coleman camper from them, they treat you like royalty until you do not want to purchase their expended warranty etc, then whole mood changes! They want you out the door now! Fast forward 30 days, my brand new camper is leaking! The customer service on this deal is even worse, they do not call you back and refuse to be accommodating in anyway! The service department told me "that is why you do not buy a new camper" and the finance manager informed me " we can't do anything for you cause you didn't buy our extended warranty" They have had my camper the entire summer (which I am still making payments on) and refuse to give me a camper to use for a weekend! DO NOT BUY FROM CAMPING WORLD, THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP YOU WHEN YOU ARE IN NEED!!!! More

We chose to purchase from Camping World because our intention is to retire in the next 10 years, purchase an RV and travel. We thought it would be a good idea to establish a relationship with a company that had stores and service at multiple locations around the US. Our experience with Matt Schroeder, the salesman was wonderful. We decided to trade in our Koala and purchase the toy hauler. The finance person Aaron set up a delivery for the next day and we were told by him that he would explain our Sam’s Club Membership when we signed papers the following day. On Saturday, July 21st we went to finish the purchase and pick up our trailer. We were told that if we backed out of the deal, they would be forced to charge us for the pre delivery inspection and services. After our initial tour of the Heartland trailer, Our finance person proceeded to inform us that we were purchasing a “rolling earthquake” and that it was not a question of if there would be problems, but when. He then went on to tell us about the extended Service Agreement and Roadside assistance agreement we would need to have now that we had agreed to buy the trailer. His sales pitch included several horror stories about people having to pay for $ 4,000 refrigerators that fell out of the wall along with other tragic events. We were also assured that we could read through the paperwork and cancel at any time. ( This was also repeated several times throughout the lengthy sales pitch for the additional insurance). He finally wore us down and we agreed to purchase only the Extended Service agreement and Roadside Assistance. The price for both continued to drop through the use of coupons he claimed to have just found online during our time with him. We ended up purchasing several thousands of dollars worth of extra insurance, along with a special treatment for the outside and inside of the camper to prevent sun damage, oxidation and damage from spills. I believe they probably treated the exterior of the camper, but they did not treat the interior. The plastic was still on the mattress and it didn’t appear anything was applied to the vinyl in the camper. When we got home, read through the contracts and discussed the pros and cons, we decided we did not want the additional insurance for service or roadside. I called to find out what to do to cancel and was again told we had purchased something that he “Guaranteed we would have problems with and he was just selling us what he would sell his own family however, we would have to both come back to the dealership to sign papers in person and speak to someone.” My husband had to be off from work to accomplish this. When we arrived for our appointment, we were introduced to Dave, whom I assume is the finance manager. He proceeded to try to convince us to keep the extra insurance using many of the same phrases used to initially sell us the policy. When we finally convinced him that we did not want those extra thousands of dollars added to our loan, his demeanor changed and he was obviously angry about us opting out. He said that he “wanted us to understand that we had purchased a piece of junk that we were destined to have trouble with and Camping World. WOULD NOT help us resolve any issues. Even those under the manufacturer's warranty. When I asked him to clarify that, he said we would have to sign that we were taking the trailer AS IS and if there were any issues it would be our responsibility to contact the manufacturer. They would not do the work without that happening. We were led to believe that our money wouldn’t be refunded if we didn’t agree to those terms. Is this a company policy?? If it is why would you not stand behind the merchandise you sell? Why would Camping World sell inferior products that they anticipate literally falling apart? When I asked him about how they could sell trailer they believed were junk to hard working families and how he could do it with a clear conscience, he told me he “sleeps like a baby because he doesn’t build them and he isn’t the salesman, he just has to handle the financing.” I am sooo disappointed with this whole experience!! I don’t think we can do business with a company that operates in this manner. More

First time service I would have given a 5 star but first time service did not start out well with one employee but ended with exceptional service from Service Rep Derek I would have given a 5 star but first time service did not start out well with one employee but ended with exceptional service from Service Rep Derek Hanson. He went ABOVE & BEYOND to help us clear up mis-communication from prior service rep to fixing the issue in a timely matter. He kept us fully informed and was very apologetic even though the mis-communication came from another. Derek became our new service rep when the prior one left so he was completely out of the loop as to what transpired but he handled a very difficult situation with a great attitude even tho he was truly overwhelmed with customers coming at him from all directions. He was very professional and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend seeing Derek for your service needs and you will not be disappointed in the service you receive from him. Thank you Derek!! More

We spent 3 months trying to get the awning delivered to DeForest, so that it could be installed. The day we came for the appointment we were lucky to get Derrick (service advisor) to help us. He was incredibly helpful and even helped us get the discarded awning into our motorhome, which was quite a feat. He was polite, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Another wonderful employee there was the service manager, Meaghan. She helped me finally determine that Camping World actually had our awning at their store. She returned my call quickly and worked to get the answers I needed without delay. Both these employees are OUTSTANDING!! Bravo. Karen K More
