Our salesman, Tom Hughes, was actually a dealer from Bob Rohrman Hyundai, and he was nothing but helpful. I would recommend Tom as a salesman. However when we got to the Honda dealership, we waited over four hours for everything to be done. When we finally got our car, they told us everything was set and we could leave. But when we got into our new car, the gas tank was on E. When I went back in they said they "forgot" to tell us their pumps were down and couldn't fill it or reimburse us. Tom was nice enough to give us $20 of his own money just to make it home. 2. Also, the rear license plate on our old vehicle was rusted on and we could only get the front plate. So they gave us a temporary rear plate and said they would mail us our old one. Months went by of us not receiving our plate (and the temp one was well expired)so we continued calling and getting put on hold and never answered. We had to go out and buy new plates ourselves, and again, we were refused reimbursement. 3. We used a family member as a cosigner as we're both young and have debt from college. When we received all of our vehicle information in the mail, they listed the family member as the primary vehicle owner and refuse to switch it over. Though they may be friendly, this was the worst car buying experience I have ever had. Not only do I nor recommend this dealer, I advise nobody to visit it. More
Had car worked on at Rohrman Honda in Lafayette, IN on Mon, Aug. 20th, 2012. They provided a referral to a towing company that did a great job (Jim's Garage, (765) 447-2626), gave an appointment that was Mon, Aug. 20th, 2012. They provided a referral to a towing company that did a great job (Jim's Garage, (765) 447-2626), gave an appointment that was within an hour, took car right in (even though it arrived after the appointment time and many other vehicles were in the garage), diagnosed and fixed problem within about 22 minutes, and here's the best part, they did not charge me, nor would they accept any payment! Many thanks to Crystal (who gave me the appointment), Brad (the Service Advisor), Jeff (the Mechanic) who gave me such great service, and Mr. Rohrman for heading up such a fine dealership. I had feared the car would need a major repair. It was such a relief to be able to safely continue our trip home. If you are from out of town (like I was), and are reading reviews online in a hotel trying to figure out where to get your vehicle repaired (like I was), have no fear about taking it to Bob Rohrman Honda. They're great! Kirk Meekin More
I have purchased vehicles from Bob Rohrman Honda in the past and during the summer of 2010 my family and I had to leave Lafayette Indiana to follow my husband's military career. I knew some day we would ne past and during the summer of 2010 my family and I had to leave Lafayette Indiana to follow my husband's military career. I knew some day we would need another car and I was upset that my favorite dealership would now be out of state. Well...this past July the wonderful staff at Bob Rohrman made it possible for me to purchase a vehicle in Indiana and have it delivered to El Paso Texas. I am so confident in my purchases with Bob Rohrman that I purchased my vehicle over the phone and the hardest thing I had to do was decide what color I wanted. I still have family in Indiana so I was able to make a quick trip in to the dealership to sign paperwork and while I was there everyone there was very friendly and accommodating. Thank you again, it was a pleasure to do business. Lindsey Waggoner More
If I could give zero stars I would. I bought my Honda from them in 2001 so I have been a long-term customer. I could have gone anywhere over the years to get oil changes but I always took my car to them. from them in 2001 so I have been a long-term customer. I could have gone anywhere over the years to get oil changes but I always took my car to them. I will NOT ever step foot in that establishment again. I dropped my car off on Wednesday for an oil change. I also wanted them to look at a possible fuse or switch that was out as the noise that signals the keys are in the ignition and the lights are still on was out. I told them to call me before they did any work other than the oil change so I could know how much the fuse/switch work would cost. They called and said that it would be $67 for the blown switch but that my brake pads needed changing and the rotors needed resurfaced. I asked how much the total cost would be if I went ahead and had it done. He said $298.40. I spoke with my husband and we agreed that I should get it done as we were about to take road trip next week to the east coast. A few hours later, they called me back to tell me that they had misquoted me on the final price and that it would actually be $510. I told them that was a problem as I didn't have that kind of money and that if I had known it would cost this much I would have never agreed to have the work in the first place. The guy said it was his fault for not reading the paperwork properly and went to put his manager on the phone. The manager then said he could give me a discount for $465. I told him I was not paying anything over the original quote as it was NOT my fault that they misquoted me. I said it was unethical to do this to their customer. I then had my husband call as I felt like I was being taken advantage of because I was a woman. My husband repeated the same thing I did. That we were not paying for their mistake. Plus they were now trying to charge me for a leaking oil pan that was never mentioned in the original phone call with the brake pads. It was total crap. My husband threatened to contact our lawyer. The manager replied with, "I'm sorry you feel that way." An hour later they called back a third time to say that after talking it over they were going to charge me $299 and was that okay? I said, "well, yes because that is the original price you quoted me at." I went in and picked up the car. The guy who returned my paperwork admitted that it was his mistake and that he didn't see the oil pan issue when he originally called nor did he understand exactly how long the work would take. He said I was only charged for the parts not the labour. I ended up paying the original amount quoted to me BUT, I find it unethical that they would even attempt to make me pay more. That they even called me with two bogus quotes and a crap "discount" when it was their mistake. You can not quote a client one price and then realize you are wrong AFTER you do the work and expect them to pay it. I wonder how many times they have done this to someone else. Someone, unlike me, who ended up paying the overage! That's what really burns me. That someone else in my shoes might have been swindled into paying it. Because of this fiasco, I will NEVER bring my car back to them. I will go somewhere else for my automotive needs. I am also going to tell everyone I can about my experience there and warn people that this kind of thing actually goes on. They lost a long-term customer that day. And they didn't even care. More
My wife and I purchased a new 2010 Honda Fit Sport from Justin Thomas at Bob Rohrman Honda. Justin was able to discuss what cars would work best for us after getting to know our family and jobs and what t Justin Thomas at Bob Rohrman Honda. Justin was able to discuss what cars would work best for us after getting to know our family and jobs and what the car would be used for. He wasn't your typical pushy salesman. He was very upfront about the costs and value. He doesn't just sell you a car, he solves your transportation needs! Finance dept took a while, but always seems to take longer than I anticipate. I'll review the service dept. in another post. More
Honda Motor Company put a poorly designed seat frame into the 2010 Honda Fit. Both the driver's and passenger's front seats started "popping" within the first few months of car ownership. The Dea the 2010 Honda Fit. Both the driver's and passenger's front seats started "popping" within the first few months of car ownership. The Dealership replaced my drivers seat frame but not until I'd made two trips to the service department, because they didn't know how long it'd take to replace the seat. The dealership was unwilling to lend me a car overnight so that I wouldn't have to take time off work to fix the issue. When the seat frame was replaced, the dash was scratched. The dealer did schedule to have my dash repaired and fixed the frame in the passenger seat. When reassembling the passenger seat, the mechanic didn't put all of the trim back on the seat. I had to make another trip to the dealership to get the trim put back on after it was ordered. Overall, it seems that someone it lacking a little attention to detail. The dealership has made strides in correcting the issues. They've been pleasant to deal with, and try to go above and beyond to get things done timely. Sometimes I think money could be saved by doing the job carefully and correctly the first time. More
My wife and I first visited the showroom about a month ago and test drove an Accord and a Civic hybrid. Jeff Whaley was very helpful in thinking about these models. I then had gone on line and looked up ago and test drove an Accord and a Civic hybrid. Jeff Whaley was very helpful in thinking about these models. I then had gone on line and looked up specs on various Honda and Toyota models, including size, mileage, options and price information. I requested and received an on-line price quote for these models. The Honda quotes were significantly below the price suggested by on-line sites such as the Kelley Blue-book site. We went back to Rohrmann this week and did another test drive of the Accord, the Civic, the Civic hybrid and the Toyota Prius. After this we decided on the Honda Civic and purchased it at the price quoted on-line. The price was very good, Jeff was very helpful in thinking about options, Ziebart, etc. and financing options. Overall we were very happy with our purchase and the help that Jeff gave us in this decision. More
My wife and I made a deal over the phone for what was supposed to be a Brand New Kia Optima. It was slightly over invoice price - what many other dealers had quoted us on a new Optima - but they didn't supposed to be a Brand New Kia Optima. It was slightly over invoice price - what many other dealers had quoted us on a new Optima - but they didn't have the color my wife insisted on - Metal Bronze. So we drove from Indy to Lafayette and started the Paperwork - when I noticed the back seat area was very dirty. I then asked how many miles the car had on it - and the salesperson said "827." I told them that was a demo at best and a used car at worst. They offered to knock an additional $500 off our previously negotiated price - but it soured us both on the deal. My wife and I are 50+ years of age and have purchased our fare share of new autos - we've never had one delivered to us w/ more than about 30 miles on the odometer. The dealer acted as though it was no big deal and said they've never had a customer raise an issue or complain about this number of miles on a "New" car. Yeah - right. More
The salesman lied about the condition of the brakes on a used car we purchased. Within 5 hr. of driving off the lot, it began to over heat & the radiator started leaking. The next day the Rohrman service de used car we purchased. Within 5 hr. of driving off the lot, it began to over heat & the radiator started leaking. The next day the Rohrman service dept. said they would replace the radiator for $300! The very next morning the car would not start and an independent mechanic replaced the sparkplugs that were in "very bad condition". He also checked the brakes and found new pads over warped rotors. The car still over heated so we were told to return it to the Rohrman service dept & they discovered a blown head gasket! They said "normally" it would cost $1200. but they could give us a "deal" for $800! In the end, we had to contact an attorney & he called them. They agreed to refund our purchase price, but we are still out the radiator repair, not to mention the legal fee. Before we involved an attorney, they had agreed to "trade out" the lemon for another car... we drove it home & returned the next day... spent several hours stuck at the dealership while they ran a complete diagnostic on the car... only to be told by a different salesman that he was embarrassed to say they had too much money in that car to trade for the other one!..even though the Blue Book value was less than the first one! and after all the hours we spent there!!! If that isn't unscrupulous, I don't know what is! More
I asked for a quote via phone and to follow it up with a written quote. Apparently, the written quote was not specific on the car but it was a great offer. I feel like the offer, which did not state the t written quote. Apparently, the written quote was not specific on the car but it was a great offer. I feel like the offer, which did not state the trim level although I mentioned it, was made on purpose to get me into their showroom and convince me to buy a car I did not want. Be careful not to fall for being lured in with false hopes. More
