I trust Subaru, and I wanted a car that would keep my son safe. I'd already bought my 2010 Subaru from Bill Kolb, so it was a natural to go back to the dealership. We went out into the lot looking for a used Legacy that fit our price category and also met my son's need for something that looked good too. We found a car that was fantastic! The cost was so unexpectedly low, the first thing out of my mouth was "what's wrong with this car?" Well, nothing is wrong. Its a dream, in fact. But more than that, Sonny was such a "mensch" to deal with. Understanding that this was my son's first "grown up" car, on the day we picked it up, he gave him a $1 bill that he had signed for luck, and told him always to leave it in the car and never spend it. That meant so much to me! He can't ever retires and Bill Kolb can never close their doors, because I would never be able to purchase another car again ;-). Too bad I can't upload a picture of the Legacy (I took a real "beauty shot" yesterday in Harriman State Park), to show you how glamorous this car is. But what's even more important than the looks are what's in it; The AWD, the CVT transmission, the numerous airbags (I lost count...I think its 10), the ABS, the tight handling, the all weather package, etc. Subaru + Bill Kolb = everything you could desire. This is the second used car, our family has purchased from Bill Kolb, Jr. Suburu. Jeff Weiner was highly professional and took us to numerous lots on the premise to check the entire inventory of Bill Kol from Bill Kolb, Jr. Suburu. Jeff Weiner was highly professional and took us to numerous lots on the premise to check the entire inventory of Bill Kolb used Suburu cars. Even in 90 plus degree weather and a rain storm, Jeff was determined to find the car we had in mind and he did!!! He was on it from the start--determined to find us this car but didn't "car sweet talk" us. He was real and honest and not at all pushy. He easily worked within our budget. He was in contact with us and we never felt we weren't lost in process. He kept us totally in the loop. His friendly but professional demeanor was a plus. I highly recommend getting a used or new car from Bill Kolb, Jr in Orangeburg, NY. And please do seek out Jeff Weiner, as we think he is best salesperson there! PS If you need to have your car serviced, they will provide a "loaner car"!!! More
I visited 3 dealerships before getting a tip to head over to Bill Kolb; I was hesitant because I live about an hour and a half away. However, I would make the trip twice over after my experience with Sonny, Paul and Joe. Sonny is quirky, friendly and a genuine old soul. We test drove 4 Legacys and I fell in love with one in particular. Sonny took the time to explain the differences in different models and went through the history of the car I liked. I didn't want to make a decision on a car the same day, but with the price and the service I felt like I at least had to talk about it with Sonny. Sonny and I went over details, there was no haggling on the price which was refreshing; there was no need to, the price of this car was at least 2K more affordable than the other dealers I had been to for the same year, make and model with +/- 1K miles difference. I was pre-approved through my credit union and when I told Sonny this, he told me that he could GUARANTEE that the finance manager could get me a better rate. Low and behold, I was approved for 4% lower than my pre-approval. Paul, the finance manager was a dream to work with as well. He explained all the figures, the APR, the warranty and followed through on everything. I'm sure everyone has heard some type of horror story about used car sales salesman, pushy dealerships, etc. Bill Kolb is nothing of the sort. For the minute I walked in the door until I pulled out of the lot, it was an amazing experience. I also wanted to point out that Bill Kolb is very military friendly, being a vet myself, I was delighted to find out Sonny was a vet as well and he introduced me to Sam who was also a vet. Thank you Bill Kolb Jr Subaru for having employees like Sonny and Paul who were able to get me into my 2012 Subaru Legacy. I know I'll be back here down the road. Oh and Joe, keep smiling :) More

I live in NYC but when I decided I wanted to purchase my first car ever, Bill Kolb Jr. dealership came as a recommendation from a trusted friend after she had a positive experience as well. Howard Bonfield was the sales consultant we both worked with and he was incredibly friendly, knowledgable, patient with all my numerous questions, and made what could have been a stressful process feel really easy and comfortable. I really liked that this dealership has everything so streamlined and time efficient. I never felt pressured to make a purchase. I would definitely recommend making an appointment with Howard Bonfield. I also think the Bill Kolb Jr. website is great to check out before hand so you have an idea of what cars they have and you can get a feel for what is within your budget. It was definitely worth leaving the 5 boroughs to buy my car. I would also return there to have my car serviced if need be. More
The experience of buying my car was the best I've had. It was quick, straight to the point. The one thing I was delighted with was the salesman didn't have to run behind the glass office and ask the had. It was quick, straight to the point. Moreover, the general price was figured out in 30 seconds with tax, etc. on a sheet of paper. No games. I was then brought to the financial officer and we had the thing done in 10 minutes. The experience was a 180 from every dealership I've ever been too. Bravo! More

Initially we came up to see a car we found online and met with Sonny for a test drive. The car wasn't up to standard so we asked to look at other models of that same year that we had also seen online. Though with Sonny for a test drive. Though friendly, Sonny told us he had another customer waiting so we should look around by ourselves in the two lots, which we thought wasn't very good form. Stuart found us wandering around looking for the second lot and very helpfully walked with us, opening cars, taking us for a test drive, and keeping us out of the torrential downpour. We found two cars we liked and requested to go forward with Stuart rather than Sonny. Unfortunately the next car that we drove turned out to have a poor return record so we test drove a third car and ended up buying it. Stuart was very accomodating to us after the disappointment of the second car. While twice there were math errors on the paperwork failing to account for our initial deposit on the first car (that luckily we caught before signing), Stuart stayed late to get the paperwork redone so that we could drive the car out that night. As Stuart said, even though it was pouring it was a good day to drive a Subaru. We love our new car. The third time was the charm. More
