BMWs are only half the reason we shop at Bill Jacobs BMW, and the other half? Bill Earnest. Bill is an incredible Client Advisor who takes the time to get to know his clients and what THEY are looking for. We’ve purchased 4 BMW’s; the last three were all three from Bill Earnest and for good reason. We visited the Bill Jacobs web site and picked three or four cars from the inventory shown there and scheduled a day for test driving. We finished with the second one and had asked for the third one on our list when Bill said, hang on… I think I have something that is right up your alley. He went away into the back and drove up in our dream car. It had everything I wanted and everything my wife wanted all wrapped up into the perfect car with the perfect amount of miles and the perfect price. It was as if he went in back and conjured up this perfect car based on his discussions with us. This was not the first time he did this. Our last two BMWs which we purchased from him as well were also conjured up like this right out of thin air. It is as if he reads our minds and builds the car for us! The company, Bill Jacobs is great. But the only reason we shop there is Bill Earnest. Thank you Bill! More
We are absolutely thrilled with Bill Jacobs in Naperville, and especially with Bill Earnest. We have now purchased 4 BMWs with Bill and could not be happier. Honestly, when we started our car sear Naperville, and especially with Bill Earnest. We have now purchased 4 BMWs with Bill and could not be happier. Honestly, when we started our car search this last time around, we did look at other dealerships/different car models, and just did not feel good about, until we stopped by BMW just to take a look. Well, the story ends here, Bill told us about some great cars with some great pricing. We wished this was our first stop, it would have saved us alot of time and energy. In the future, we will always stop at Bill Jacobs and visit our friend Bill Earnest first! Thanks Bill! More
I have been a customer of Bill Jacobs Motorsport in Naperville since 1999. . .and I moved out of the state in 2004. I have purchased 7 vehicles from them over a ten year stretch, and when it's time tr Naperville since 1999. . .and I moved out of the state in 2004. I have purchased 7 vehicles from them over a ten year stretch, and when it's time trade in the one I bought last year, I'll be buying my one way ticket to Chicago again. I've bought vehicles from them while living in Orlando, Minneapolis, and now Houston. When the price they can offer for a CPO vehicle makes it worth my while to ship my trade-in and buy a one-way ticket and STILL come out ahead, then it stands to reason why they have my loyalty. It may be two to three years between visits, but they all remember my name every time I come in. I met Bill Earnest while looking for my first BMW there and I've stayed with him ever since. Bill is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about BMW's (even the EPA ratings) and has an amazing ability to pick the very best of the CPO vehicles. I have even purchased 2 cars from Bill sight unseen (three total without test drives) and when I finally picked them up, they looked even better than I ever imagined. I always feel like his only customer. I had an arguable warranty issue within weeks of delivery of my very first purchase of a CPO vehicle from them and they resolved the issue in everyone's favor. Bill was instrumental in listening to my needs and understanding my situation and position. He'll fight for you. If you ever had a negative experience at Bill Jacobs, then you probably caught someone on a bad day. Come back and talk to Bill. I highly recommend this dealership and their sales staff (both new and used). More
I've been buying BMWs for more than a decade. I've purchased eight BMWs from Bill Jacobs in Naperville, Ill., and the single-most important reason for my loyalty to this dealership is my sales advisor purchased eight BMWs from Bill Jacobs in Naperville, Ill., and the single-most important reason for my loyalty to this dealership is my sales advisor, Bill Earnest. He's there for me during the buying process and long after the sale is over. He understands my personal preferences and interests, and his commitment and integrity have a huge influence on how I feel about BMW and the dealership. BMW could learn a great deal just by spending a week with this man and watching him work. If you're looking for a Certified Used or New BMW, the first call I would make is to Bill Earnest. More
Customer service was very friendly and informative. the quality of work on the clean-up and getting the car ready for us was very thorough. Everyone that I have come into contact with at the dealership has quality of work on the clean-up and getting the car ready for us was very thorough. Everyone that I have come into contact with at the dealership has been very polite and friendly. Overall experience was good. The price on the car was good, although I think there was definitely some more play in the trade-ins, especially after seeing what our old vehicle was being sold at. More
Bill Jacobs is a small dealer divided into two parts, BMW and MINI. I have only dealt with the MINI side. On several occasions I took MINIs in for service only to find the work not done either because they o and MINI. I have only dealt with the MINI side. On several occasions I took MINIs in for service only to find the work not done either because they overbooked or they didn't address the problem completely. Often times I've needed to rent a car (book their loaner cars early!) and make two trips to deal with what should have been a simple problem. The dealership is tiny and has hospitality area that is in the center of everything. It is not comfortable nor well furnished, which is sort of a big deal since you tend to spend quite a bit of time there. The reception is prompt and friendly, but the service guys are pressured to up sell all sorts of services when they create and close your work order. Hope you don't have a dispute with the service (or sales department for that matter) department because they are not pleasant to deal with in such a situation. They will make some minor concessions, but they certainly don't live up to the customer experience I thought the BMW/MINI brand should deliver. The dealer personnel will tell you to take simple tasks to third party providers. For instance, I asked about tire rotation and was told to use National Tire. However, if you are in for any kind of service they will try to up sell the tire rotation. Just not a good dealer in terms of car dealers. Certainly a very poor dealer in terms of BMW / MINI. I recommend you find another dealer if you can. More
attempted to purchase an X5 here several years ago, and they would absolutely not budge on the price.. and made me feel like they were doing me a favor and that I was inconveniencing them! I left... went they would absolutely not budge on the price.. and made me feel like they were doing me a favor and that I was inconveniencing them! I left... went directly across the street to the Jaguar dealership, and found the same model truck, in better shape with less miles and saved almost $6000.00. I am now in the market for another car, and drove into the lot of bill jacobs, and found a car I really liked. I put my first experience out of my mind as I thought maybe they'd get better... especially in the current market. NOT A CHANCE. They offered me squat on my trade in, and barely came down on the asking price of the car i was trying to buy. I decided not to get into a bidding war and play the cat and mouse game and left. I highly recommend NOT visiting this dealership if you can possibly avoid it. NOT worth the time or effort! Go somewhere else!!! More
My most recent experience was the second in a row where Jacobs tried to sell me service/parts that I definitely don't need. I would have overlooked one bad experience, but I think a second strike deserves Jacobs tried to sell me service/parts that I definitely don't need. I would have overlooked one bad experience, but I think a second strike deserves a negative comment. The first instance was when I took my car (2002 330ci) for Inspection II service (which, by the way, cost over $1,200.) I left the car in the morning and got a loaner. They called me in the afternoon and said that the service was completed but I needed new tires all around. The service guy said that they were all basically bald. Note here that the tires had only about 12,000 miles on the at that time. I told him that was impossible, so he talked to the mechanic who told him, he said, that that was correct, they all needed to be replaced. They would be glad to order them for me. I told him that he should walk outside and look at the tires. He called me again in about 10 minutes and said they had been looking at the wrong car. My tires were fine. The point is that if they had told my wife (or some other gullible customer) that the tires were bald, they probably would have authorized replacement. The second incident was this weekend. I took it in for an oil change. When I was called back to pay for the service, I noticed that the charge on the bill was $141. "What did you do for $141," I said. And he said that the microfilers needed replacement. I said, "They were just repaced 8,000 miles ago, when I had the Inspection II done. What did I pay $1,200 for?" He said, "Oh, yes, you're right, I'll take it off the bill." Again, the point is that they tried to sell me service that wasn't needed and wasn't authorized. Also, again, my wife (not a car guy) said that faced with the same situation herself, she would have paid the bill with no questions asked. More
After buying my 01 740 I CPO from another dealer, I always took it to Bill Jacobs for service. Both warranty, CPO and general service. Always friendly, always repaired on time and they even fixed a few always took it to Bill Jacobs for service. Both warranty, CPO and general service. Always friendly, always repaired on time and they even fixed a few things that I didn't know were wrong to begin with! Pricing is fair. Staff is knowledgable and friendly and always willing to help. I don't like having to make an appointment for a loaner, a practice they recently started, but I understand and it is fair in my opinion. I recently lost my car in a serious accident. Held up fantastic. BMW's rock in the safety department! I will be buying another BMW and this time i will buy from Bill Jacobs. By far the best car dealer I have ever dealt wil. A+ in my book. More
Service always takes twice as long as they say it will. Front desk personnel are typically rude and not helpful (i.e. I say that I would like to get a turn signal lightbulb changed....they sell me a bulb f Front desk personnel are typically rude and not helpful (i.e. I say that I would like to get a turn signal lightbulb changed....they sell me a bulb for $2.50 and tell me to walk 5 feet to the service desk and they will install it. The service desk says there are other parts needed and that I should return the bulb and they will take care of the repair. Upon returning to the reception desk, one individual asks for my paperwork while the other comments that "he didn't wait for it, so we have it in the back room"....she was the one that told me to walk over to the service desk.
