Our experience at Ron Carter Hyundai has been top notch every step of the way. He cheerfully responded to each of our requests to come in and view yet another exterior/interior color combination as we tried to decide. Equally as important, he never exerted any pressure at all on us to come to a decision. After we finally agreed on a deal, Michael Ogaz, the Finance Manager we worked with, entered the picture. Although we only interacted with him for a little over an hour he also proved himself a consummate professional. At every point in the closing process where we had questions, he took whatever time was required to explain things to our satisfaction. Our buying experience at Ron Carter could not have gone better. This has to have been the worst experience I have had with a car dealership. I received a letter in the mail advertising a "Buy Back Event" with an offer on my 2011 Elantra that was "prepared specifical with a car dealership. I received a letter in the mail advertising a "Buy Back Event" with an offer on my 2011 Elantra that was "prepared specifically for us" based on market values and demand for our vehicle. It advertised getting us into a new car for the same or cheaper payment than we currently pay. I filled out the online form indicating an interest in a vehicle advertised on their website. I received a response from both Mandy and Kilan. I scanned a copy of the letter and explained to them my desires and intentions and and insured them I had no intention of wasting their time, would they please not waste my time (especially since it was a 2 hour drive to the dealership). I explained exactly what I was looking for, what my current payment, my financial status, and exactly what I wanted. I was assured by both of them that they could "definitely" work a deal on this and even that "9 out 10 people who had responded to the Buy Back offer had walked out happy customers". I told them I looked forward to working with them and scheduled an appointment for 7/25 at 10:00 am. When I arrived that morning I was greeted by Tasos and explained to him that I was looking for Mandy or Kilan. He told he did not think they were there and in fact was able to confirm that they were not. Strike #1. He told me that he would be glad to help. I have to say that Mr. Tasos was very polite and helpful. I gave him the stock # to the Elantra we were interested in and he came back and said that vehicle had already been sold. I gave him a second stock # and that one had also already been sold, and a third......needless to say all of these cars showed to be in inventory on the website. He finally found a couple of cars like the one we were interested in. He gathered all the information and took it to the Sales Manager and after about 15 mins came back with a payment that was $150 MORE that what we are currently paying, and apparently the offer amount on the letter to Buy Back our vehicle was no where near what they were now offering. Strike #3. The car salesman "double talk" started at that point with mention about how the letter was for a top of the line vehicle, not our specific vehicle, and that the e-prices on the Internet were not lease sales prices, and so on and so on. I currently own 3 Hyundais and had every intention of purchasing a vehicle that day, but as the old saying goes, "if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is". The only good that came of it is they at least honored their $25 gas card just for test driving a vehicle so at least I wasn't out any gas, just 6 hours of my time. More
