Poor communication As the customer, I had to initiate every call. We discovered the seam in our truck seat was coming undone, not through wear and tear, but through bad As the customer, I had to initiate every call. We discovered the seam in our truck seat was coming undone, not through wear and tear, but through bad workmanship from the factory. Our truck is still under warranty, so we called and scheduled a drop off time. It seemed very difficult to get a loaner vehicle, but thanks to Randy, we finally got one. So, we left the truck and waited for notification that it was fixed...and waited...and waited. Finally, we called to see what progress was being made and found it difficult to reach anyone by phone. Finally got hold of Josh and he said the seat was fixed, but the upholsterer they used had cut a slit in the bottom of the seat and they had to send it back to get THAT fixed. Another delay getting our truck back...sigh. Again, we had to initiate calls as to whether the seat bottom was fixed. Again, difficulty getting someone on the phone to respond, in spite of leaving voicemails on several phones. Finally got hold of Josh again and he said they would have the truck back from the upholsterer by a certain time. We arrived to pick up the vehicle, but Josh had to put the seat back together after we got there. Also, after inspecting the vehicle prior to leaving Bergland the seat shoe guards were off as well as the seat control trim was off. Finally made it out of there after waiting 20-25 minutes. The most frustrating part of the experience was that there was NO communication from Bergland except what was initiated by us in the NINE days they had the truck. :-( More
Trust was built I had called to get a price on putting an engine in my Excursion and Dean had given me a fair price on the job in line with Ford part.com. And the labor was fair based on the complexity of the job requirements. The parts Dept sent back a quote for the motor that was higher than his quote. He immediately called them to see what was up. It was just the core charge was put in this time. He made them take it out since it would be changed at their shop. He didn't think it was fair to just hold my money for a month since the only thing changing hands was my money. While it was insignificant to me financially it meant a lot to me trust wise. I listened to the other guy working the counter and notice he treated people fairly and responsibly. Dean also handled another person's warranty issue while I waited and was genuinely interested in making sure the young customer was treated right and taken care of. His body language communicated as much sincerity as his words. I am a pastor who has to deal with over a hundred people a week sometimes in very difficult circumstances. I have to be able to read people to survive and to take care of and protect the church. In my opinion Dean is a credit to Berglund and from now on I will go to him first for my automotive needs. More
