beware of "recommended services" I moved to Asheville from upstate New York six weeks ago. Before making the drive, I took my car to my usual independent repair shop, had the car checked over and had $2,000+ of necessary repairs completed. I brought my car to BMW of Asheville for the first time last week to have two recalls repaired. While my car was in the shop I received a text message from BMW of Asheville stating that “there are service updates on your vehicle that require your attention. Follow the link below to approve the recommended services for your vehicle.” Upon clicking the link I was taken to a page where I was asked to check an approve or disapprove box regarding the recommended services with no explanation of what the services were or why they were needed. The two services that were recommended for my vehicle added up to over $1,200 in total. I find this appalling. How does BMW of Asheville expect a customer to approve such a large amount of repairs with no explanation or conversation, just an automated text message with approve and disapprove boxes? Upon picking up my car, I asked my service advisor about the recommended services and how urgent they were. He stated that he would consider them “very urgent as coolant is leaking into the oil which could cause your engine to explode and your coolant hoses could break at any moment.” I left perplexed and nervous to drive my car. Today I brought my car to another independent repair shop for a second opinion. After through inspection, they stated that there was no cause for concern and that everything looks as it should for its age. I am so glad I got a second opinion and didn’t spend unnecessary money, especially at BMW of Asheville. Although this was my first visit to BMW of Asheville, I hope that it will be my last. Unless of course there is another recall that puts my vehicle at risk of bursting into flames even when its not running. If I ever have to return to BMW of Asheville, I will take their “recommended services” with a grain of salt and get a second opinion, and I suggest that you do too. More
DO NOT DO BUSINESS!!!This dealership needs a wake-up call This is by far the worst sales experience i have ever had at any car dealership, never mind from an experienced and world-renowned brand such as BMW. This is by far the worst sales experience i have ever had at any car dealership, never mind from an experienced and world-renowned brand such as BMW. As this is a Fields Auto Group dealership, Mr. Dan Fields, President of Fields Auto Group, will be getting a personal letter from me shortly. First off, i was a walk-in customer who was on business travel in the area. I clearly articulated my expectation if the price was right, I would drive off with the in-stock CPO X5 xDrive 35i. I then had to wait for over 4 hours to finally get to the negotiating table (yes they were busy on a Saturday and i was respectful and flexible as the Sales guy Joel was working multiple clients). I offered to step out for lunch and come back in so he can clear the backlog, but he insisted that i stay and wait. Then, finally we get to the table and I laid a true market offer on the table and they came back with a best and final offer at $395 off the sticker price, basically translating to an "FU" and showing how this dealership values your time. Finally, they also unethically applied an out-of state sales tax on the out-the-door pricing. We all know if you drive the car off the lot, you pay the state sales tax at origin (in North Carolina this is 3%). I am absolutely appalled by this level of service especially being straight up, open and honest as a serious buyer who was ready to close and take delivery on that day. I am no longer considering BMW for my next vehicle after a 17 year partnership. Thanks BMW Asheville for driving this decision to move away from BMW and hope BMW North America takes serious action here and dress down the incompetent sales staff and General Manager at this "mickey-mouse" dealership! You need a wake-up call! And again, Iook forward to engaging Mr. Dan Fields, President of Fields Auto Group as this is a serious matter and needs his immediate attention. More
Great Service Experience We've recently moved to Asheville and needed to get our 2016 X-5 inspected. My husband has been pressuring me to switch to a domestic vehicle so that I can have it serviced locally as I live 2 hours from Asheville but Norman's service is unparalleled and I bought my 2016 X5 because of him. Pre-Owned 2014 BMW 335i M Sport Purchase I would like to thanks Troy Willoughby, Mike Morton, Alex Powell and Josh Moniz for my great experience with BMW of Asheville on the purchase of my 20 I would like to thanks Troy Willoughby, Mike Morton, Alex Powell and Josh Moniz for my great experience with BMW of Asheville on the purchase of my 2014 BMW 335i M Sport in December 2015. Troy and Mike did an absolute great job of working with me on seeing that I received the highest trade-in value for my Shelby GT and to be sure that my overall pricing was the lowest availably in the Asheville, NC area. Alex did a great job assisting me with all of the M-Performance accessories that I wanted to add to my 335i and Josh did a great job assisting me with all of the features of my 335i. 14 Years of Superior Service I have purchased 2 Pre-Owns from this dealership and their service has been outstanding in EVERY way. The only issue I've really had was not with the dealership but with BMW's decision to use run flat tires. Bad choice in my opinion. The tires puncture twice as easy, wear twice as fast, cannot be repaired and are expensive. Not at all happy with this situation. The Service Manager and I had a lengthy discussion and he did his best to make me happy with an unhappy tire experience. Again, it's not a dealership problem. (Doubt I'll ever buy another vehicle with run flat tires unless significant improvements ensue.) Otherwise, I'm very pleased with my 328i and I'm hoping BMW resolves this tire issue. Highly recommend this dealership. More
Service Manager Yelled at My Toddler. I was checking in for service with my 18 month old child who was Babbling loudly (not screaming). Shockingly, another service manager on a phone nearby snapped at her exclaiming "I can't hear" at the top of his voice. I left. Absolutely unacceptable! With employees like this I would rather drive to SC for service. More

He was very helpful and didn't force anything on me, unlike other dealers they make you buy what they want. Also Trenton Braswell was awesome. Very funny and helpful. He worked hard to get us a lower interest rate of what we had before. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO VISIT BMW OF ASHVILLE, AND SEE JOSHUA AND TRENTON, THEY WILL TREAT YOU LIKE FAMILY.
