Thank you for sharing of your recent experience with our dealership. We appreciate allowing our team an opportunity to earn your business. Our dealership is committed to be a part of your Acura ownership and it is our goal is for all our guests to have a great ownership visit but it appears that your recent experience was less than acceptable. Your feedback was shared with our management and was used to review our processes to look for areas, if applicable, where we can improve our guest experiences to avoid these kinds of occurrences. Our business is entirely dependent on our guests and any misunderstandings or mistreatment is unacceptable. While it may appear to simply be just having a key made, while we cannot speak for other locksmith businesses, as a franchised Acura dealership, we must have protection processes in place when keys are asked to be made. Our teammates are required to ask for documentation such as valid state ID and proof of vehicle ownership before our dealership will cut a key from a VIN number. This is normally not a process that would take several hours but the documents provided at the time was a passport and interim/temporary vehicle purchase documents and as mentioned would required approval from upper management. We regret that this process required the amount of time that it did. And we will review our escalation processes to avoid this kind of inconvenience.
