Volkswagen of Downtown Chicago - Service Center

All four times I’ve take my car for service at this dealer I’ve had issues. From simples issues as forgetting to reset the service date on the dashboard, to forgetting to pump the tires, from seeing dealer I’ve had issues. From simples issues as forgetting to reset the service date on the dashboard, to forgetting to pump the tires, from seeing them enter/exit the garage with customer cars as if they were in a race track, to getting charged for a service that has already been pre-paid. Those are the minor things that I was able to notice, but who knows what happens to the cars when they are not at sight, plus, doesn’t inspire much confidence that the remaining work was done well. Only one of the 4 times I’ve take my car there it was washed, which I think should be a complimentary service for a dealership. Won’t be taking my car there anymore. More

I came on to have extra key fob programmed to my new car…told me 60- 90 minutes…left & came back in 90minutes…another 100 minutes!!!!…kept telling me few more minutes…that was after waiting in driveway car…told me 60- 90 minutes…left & came back in 90minutes…another 100 minutes!!!!…kept telling me few more minutes…that was after waiting in driveway for 25 minutes when I got there!…not a favorable 1st impression of service department!🙁…really painful! I was told I needed a new wheel bearing on a 2023 atlas with only 19k miles. Took it to two other shops and they found nothing wrong with the wheel bearing. Fred has done a great job stepping in as service manager. I’ve been going there for about 15 years and seen a few changes of the guard, and I am very impressed with the way he handled my issue. I moved a lot farther away, but service like theirs, including Mike B the shop foreman, makes me feel confident in the choice to make the journey.
