This dealership is a fraud. If you purchase a vehicle from them, your sales person will either change their google number or block you so you can’t reached them again after they get your sale. When I asked the finance guy Byson for his number, he told me I can email him with a sinister smirk on his face. I canceled my extended warranty within 30 days because I purchased “hopefully” a better one elsewhere, and I asked them to rewrite my contract so that it does not include the warranty. Byson and his manager Jennifer refused to, claiming that the finance company would just have to remove that amount from my balance. Why and how would the finance company do that, when they paid the dealership for the total sale of my vehicle which included the warranty??? So that was a negative when I reached out to them and they stated they would have to receive payment in the amount of the warranty to do so. Makes sense right! And when I reached out to the warranty company, they were never paid. The contract was just voided out. So they owe me nothing as well. So now Volkswagen of Downtown Chicago believes that I’m just going to eat this $2500 dollars and just walk away as if they don’t owe me this money that is also accumulating interest every month because it’s included in my monthly payments. So now I’m currently in the process of suing them and if anyone wants to avoid this headache, I implore you to go elsewhere and do your due diligence with any of these dealerships before you make a purchase.

Tyson and Jennifer work for Honda not VW. Probably why they are not willing to be of assistance. I can cancel that warranty for you. Please email me your info so I can help process the cancellation. Finance@dtvwchicago.com and we can get that done pretty quickly. I would like to add that difficulty working with Honda employees on a VW purchase would not make us fraud. What you are saying can really hurt a business and I would ask that you think about what you are accusing business of and the possible consequences. Thank you

Thank you for responding, but though I purchased my vehicle from VW, it was indeed Tyson that did my contract. And upon returning to VW and speaking to Tyson regarding my issue, he brought in Jennifer instead of leading me to someone from VW that could help me. They both were adamant about not redoing my contract but insisted on me contacting my finance company that paid VW for my warranty because it was included in my contract. So, they were indeed not trying to help me. I also called VW about a month ago and spoke with someone in finance that I explained my issue with. They confirmed my contact information and stated they would get back with me. I’m still waiting on that phone call. It’s now going on 5 months since I canceled my warranty, so please tell me what other conclusions can I come to at this point??? I will send an email and I really hope that the issue of my refund will be resolved, so I don’t have to continue with the process of going through litigation.

Hello, While I appreciate your response to my (edited) review, I will point out that you have misrepresented my position. I would be grateful if the allegedly fraudulent charges were refunded. However, I do not feel comfortable signing a release agreement that legally binds me from sharing my experience since I have not received any acknowledgment of what transpired, much less any indications that the deceptive practices we experienced will cease at your dealership. I have already requested to you and your sales managers that I be emailed fully executed copies of all documents that I signed as part of this purchase. I am legally entitled to them. None of the copies I have are signed by your dealership, and I still do not have a copy of the document that increased the vehicle price from $7500 to $9474. Thank you.

Be advised - I have your sales manager Mario Gentry (who acknowledged that he was being recorded) on record telling me that a $1079 processing fee and a $895 Magado Guard six month powertrain warranty were the reason for the price discrepancy between $7500 and $9474. However, these fees are not listed on the Buyer's Order. Under Illinois Statutes Chapter 815. Business Transactions, Act 375. Motor Vehicle Retail Installment Sales Act, Section No.5: Terms and conditions of contract - "Every retail installment contract shall disclose the following items, as applicable...(4) All other charges, individually itemized, which are included in the amount financed but which are not part of the finance charge." I will reiterate my request once more - please email me scanned, fully executed copies of all documents that I signed as part of this purchase by the end of May 2nd, 2026.
