Toyota of Richardson's sales tactics are good. They use don't try to pressure you and truly offer you the best deal that they can rather quickly. However, it is after the sale that service starts to degrade quite quickly. The car that we bought was given to us to drive away on empty-no attention to detail. Additionally, we were given only one key-doesn't seem like a big deal until you find out that new keys need to be programmed to the car and cost $110 (so full tank of gas+$110 car key=$160 on top of purchase price already). Finally, there were some small scrapes on the bumper that they agreed to fix as part of the deal. Our salesman was supposed to set up an appointment for this but did not. He just told me to show up around 10 a.m. the next day and it would take 45 minutes to fix. After driving the car out to Toyota of Richardson (half hour away from my house) I was greeted with a ton of confusion. Nobody knew where to take my car and my salesman was no where to be found. Finally, I was told to take it back to service. When I pulled up to the service lot I was very rudely greeted by the manager who seemed like he had much more important things to do. He told me that they don't do paint touch ups and to drive around back and look for "Mike". When I finally found Mike he was not expecting me to show up and told me that it would take eight hours (not the 45 my salesman told me) and he couldn't get to it that day. Reluctantly, I went home and came back the following day (half hour drive again) to drop off my car and finally get it fixed. Overall, the sale went smoothly but it is the care you get after buying the car that is extremely lacking. More
This is a busy location so unless you can leave your vehicle and come back for it on a Saturday, I would recommend going during the week. I made an appointment on a Saturday morning at 9 am and the cars were lined up down the street. The wait time for an oil change was 3 1/2 hours. I didn't have anyone go with me so I could not leave my vehicle and I was not going to wait half the day at the dealer. They assured me if I would come on a Tuesday they would get me out of there in an hour and a half. I showed up yesterday after work on Tuesday and Mickey Hagar greeted me. I explained what I needed to get done (oil change, tires balanced). He said the wait was going to be an hour to an hour 1/2 for the oil change and another hour and a half at least for the tire balance. That was 3 hours minimum. I explained that this was the 3rd time that I have tried to get my vehicle in and I was assured last Saturday that they could get me out in an hour and a half. He talked to someone and said they should be able to do it. THEY DID!! It ended up my battery needed to be replaced as well as a broken brake light, both still under warranty. So I had an oil change, filters replaced, battery replaced, brake light replaced, tires balanced, car washed and ready to go in an hour and a half! I was SO SO VERY VERY HAPPY!!! Nothing worse than having to sit and wait for hours. They really impressed me. So friendly and they want me to come back so they did it for me. I will go back there and I have already told several people about the great experience. I work for an insurance company in the claims office so stories about dealerships are shared daily. This was a good story to tell! More
My husband and I have dealt with this dealership for many years and their service department is the best that we have ever encountered. The staff at Toyota of Richardson, in particular Randy McConnell, was very polite and personable. UPDATE: After discovering the battery had died a day after the purchase, Randy had the vehicle towed back to the dealership to have the battery replaced. He then delivered the vehicle to my home. All of this was done free of cost. More

After dealing with several dealerships and having a horrible experience at one, I had almost given up on getting a Toyota. I was having trouble finding anything else that I really wanted and 4 Runners have been extremely difficult to find, but I was very determined. I looked at every dealership's inventory, and I had just about given up when I found exactly what I was looking for at Toyota of Richardson. I was contacted almost immediately by Morgan, and she was so helpful. She was able to answer all of my questions before I made the hour and a half drive to look at the vehicle, and I was very excited to see it. She even called me while I was on the way to make sure I was able to find them OK. When I arrived, I was not disappointed. The vehicle was not only exactly how it was described, it was actually better than I could have imagined. I had a very specific trade-in value that I was looking to get, and also a payment budget I needed to stay close to. Morgan was very determined to get me into this vehicle, and Kevin came and talked to me and we were able to get the whole negotiation process finished in about ten minutes, even with a few challenges. It was, by far, the easiest and least painful car buying experience I have ever had. I have purchased many vehicles over the years, and this is my third Toyota. I am still just amazed at how pleasant this actually was. Then when I went into the business office to take care of paperwork, Sam went even further to get me the best rate and warranty and still kept me within my agreed range. I had honestly expected to go back home with the Tundra because this whole ordeal has been such a beating for the past two weeks, but I am so grateful that I was persistent in searching for the perfect vehicle, and even more grateful that it was at Toyota of Richardson. It might be the first time I've left a dealership and not felt like I've possibly made a mistake in the deal. Thank you Morgan, I think you have a very bright future ahead of you in whatever you do. You have great teachers, not only in the car business, but in business of any sort. More

After a brief test drive/chat I must say we were pleasantly surprised with this dealership. On Friday we placed the order and the salesman said he would mail us a receipt and call us on Monday to confirm the deliver date. Tuesday, Wednesday came and went with no word... Called them on Thursday to hear that Jeff had gone on vacation and would be gone for 2weeks?!? EXCUSE ME WHAT DID YOU SAY?!? After trying to salvage the order with a new sales person whom by the way, said, "the one you tried to order was sold." He then proceeded to try and upgrade us to a higher sticker priced vehicle, WINK WINK! Oh no they didn't, so we cancelled the CC deposit and RAN, which is what I suggest you do if considering this dealership, especially after we never heard from them again even after we asked to speak to a manager about the situation giving them the benefit of the doubt.
