Our sales person was helpful, though, he didn't offer water on a hot day. He gave us the information we requested in a timely manner, and he tried to work the deal over the phone prior to the visit. At t water on a hot day. He gave us the information we requested in a timely manner, and he tried to work the deal over the phone prior to the visit. At the end, I think he could have been more knowledgeable about the car we were working and not find the kind of stuff that HE should have known ( and told us) about the condition of the car, before visitig the dealer. We bought something else instead. The car we purchased underwent a final detailing; but I was not impressed with the quality of work. We asked for certain things like touch up a work, fillup of gas in the tank and it didn't happened. Cleanliness: The car was still dirty in the inside. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Just little details that that left a bad impression. The finance rep was informative and presented all the information in a clear manner. The rate offered did not even came close to the rate from my bank and for that reason, I had the car finance by my bank. More
My Toyota of Richardson Experience - This was the My Toyota of Richardson Experience - This was the worst car buying experience from a dealership I have ever experienced my life! I initially began My Toyota of Richardson Experience - This was the worst car buying experience from a dealership I have ever experienced my life! I initially began my experience on June 03, 2008, and returned today (June 05, 2008) to purchase the vehicle / price that we agreed on. They totally went back on their original price immediately and told me it was because I came in on the last day of the previous month. I told Louis Gill (salesperson) that it was day before yesterday (6/3/08) and not in May. They were going to sell me a car for $1000.00 more than they originally quoted me. Louis then began to tell me that the he said, "If we can do this price, would you buy today". That is not what he said. Louis' manager (Jerome Brooks) also sat in going over the numbers on that day. However, today he totally ignored the fact that he seen them numbers and denied he had anything to do with it! Lied right to my face!!! Okay, let's say that he did not sit in (which he in fact did), I know for a fact that Louis went and got approval to sell the vehicle for the negotiated price; when I declined to purchase it that day because I wanted to look at pricing from another dealership, he even dropped the price another $200.00. So even "if" Jerome did not sit in (which he did), shouldn't he know what his sales staff is doing? I would hope so. Needless to say, when I told them that I felt I was being treated unfairly, that they were taking advantage of people telling them one price then changing it when they actually want to purchase the vehicle, Mr Brooks kept saying that it was a misunderstanding (don’t know how it could be, it was all written down) became very defensive. More so when I asked that he provide me the General Manager's name and contact information and even mentioned (as he walked away from me) "My job is secure, I don't have anything to worry about), and "I look myself in the mirror everyday" etc., etc. I ask you, is this appropriate type of behavior from a manager? Not so much! Several individuals warned me that this type of activity was common practice there at Toyota of Richardson; I guess I should have heeded their warnings. I just hope I can reach out to anyone interested in purchasing a Toyota and tell him or her my story - Stay as far away from Toyota of Richardson as possible!!! Janos Szabo More
My wife took her Prius here for a 15,000 mile maintenance. We asked for the 15,000 mile maintenance assuming it would be what is outlined in the maintenance manual: oil change, rotate tires, ins maintenance. We asked for the 15,000 mile maintenance assuming it would be what is outlined in the maintenance manual: oil change, rotate tires, inspect joints and bearings. I was told this was $400 which floored me, but I assumed I had no choice if I wanted to keep the warranty. When we go to pick the car up, in addition to what the manual recommends, they had also sold us: cabin air filter, fuel injection flush (???), oil conditioner, and a new set of wiper blades. I asked for none of this stuff. Now I know when I take it in that "15000 mile maintenance" is not a term I should use- I need to specify exactly what I want. But, I will not be doing business with this dealership again. My sales experience was equally bad - in short, we made a deal on a car they were to get on dealer trade - when I go to make the purchase, the price is different than what we agreed on - they added for window tinting and underbody protection, etc... ended up making a deal with them anyways because we liked the car and the tax rebate was about to expire. I suggest staying away from this dealership. More
We bought our Highlander from this dealer and were very pleased with the sales end of the transaction. However, ever time we've had to deal with the service department it's been a nightmare. They have tr pleased with the sales end of the transaction. However, ever time we've had to deal with the service department it's been a nightmare. They have tried to make us pay for fixes that were clearly covered under the warranty and we had to fight to make them do the work. Once, when Toyota called us to rate our customer service experience, we told them how annoyed we were. The answer? Five days later we got a message from the service manager on our answering machine YELLING at us for leaving a bad rating. Sadly, even though we liked the salesman who sold us our car, we will probably not go back to this dealership again. More
Was sold an 5 year extended warrantly only to find out a year later it expired because it was based on the inservice date of the vehicle not the purchase date. They admitted this was not on the contract bu year later it expired because it was based on the inservice date of the vehicle not the purchase date. They admitted this was not on the contract but insisted that new contracts were updated to include this information. They offered to give me the price of the repait off a new vehicle!!! I will never do business with this dealership again and would recommend everyone to steer clear. More
This is a followup on an earlier review. In my earlier review, I told how I was charged for services I did not want while I was in for a separate problem. The reason for this follow-up is it turns out th review, I told how I was charged for services I did not want while I was in for a separate problem. The reason for this follow-up is it turns out they did not fix the problem. When I had my 4Runner in, they said it was a bad fuel pump. It turns out that the real problem was a bad fuel gauge, which is a know issue with my model 4Runner. The bad fuel gauge says you still have gas even though you are on empty. So, I was just out of gas and they replaced the fuel pump. They did not fix the real problem. By the time It happened again (I usually fill up at half a tank, so I didn't find out for a while) my extended warranty ran out. Now, because they didn't fix the problem correctly the first time, I just have to live with the bad fuel gauge. Do not take your toyota to Toyota of Richardson. They will rip you off, and not fix your car. More
These guys are a bunch of rip off artists. A squirrel got in my engine compartment and chewed through some wires which made my antenna, alarm beeper and high speed on my wipers stop working. The service got in my engine compartment and chewed through some wires which made my antenna, alarm beeper and high speed on my wipers stop working. The service guys told me that all kinds of wires needed to be spliced back together, it would be 5 hours of work and would be anywhere from $300 to $500 to fix. I told them I could not afford that, Paid a diagnostic fee, and just took it home. I looked at it myself, and it turned out to be 3 wires that just needed to be spliced back together. I had everything fixed by myself in $20 min. I should have known better, but my fuel pump went out a couple of months later. I had it towed in and the fuel pump was replaced under an extended warranty. The service man told me that they also replaced the battery, plugs, wires, and did a fuel injection service, (None of which I asked for), and these things would be $350. I told him that my battery was working fine when it went in, and the other things had been done just 3000 miles ago at another service center. He said that the battery was totally shot and they had to put a new one in just to test it. After A bit of back and forth, they agreed to put the old battery back in, and not charge me for the other items. When I went to pick the car up, they wanted to charge me a fee because I didn't have the other work done (The work I didn't ask them to do). Again, some back and forth before I got them to take that off too. As a side note, my 4runner starts rite up every time on that same battery that the service guy told me was "Shot". More
Charged for services admittedly not performed, rushed out before we could do anything about it. When we went back to dispute the charge, the customer service rep. woman treated us horribly and attempted to before we could do anything about it. When we went back to dispute the charge, the customer service rep. woman treated us horribly and attempted to strong-arm us out of seeking resolution. A week later, after calling Toyota's 800 number and then having the customer service rep. call to intimidate us into withdrawing that complaint, they finally decided to refund me.

I will do all I can to persuade others to go to another dealer.

Worst customer service, ever. They don't care about their customers, nor do they care about retaining any of their business. They have defrauded many people that I know of, and I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone. More
