The service department called her back and stated that they had discovered 3 'major' issues with her vehicle...1. Serpentine belt was cracked and frayed, 2. hoses were leaking around radiator, and 3. there were 'significant' leaks where the seals were at the transmission and rear end gear box. they recommended that she get these issues fixed immediately or risk a breakdown. I called the service department and asked that the mechanic call me back so I could determine what the real issues were...never received a return call. This is the reason that I quit using Ted Britt Service in Sterling for ANY maintenance issues at all...the active and very misleading solicitation of repair work for 'significant problems' that are not as critical as described. My daughter's direction was to simple, repair the ignition recall and do nothing else. Obviously, my daughter is a young woman and your service department has a long history with my family of trying to take advantage of women and the uneducated. My wife experienced similar problems several times before after we bought the car (the dealership was a Saturn site at that time). This day and age, your business model should not be one of active solicitation of repair business under those circumstances, but rather a customer first model that encourages repeat business rather than one of alarmist misrepresentations of minor issues. I can understand a check up and advisement of potential issues but that particular service garage (now Ted Britt) lost any business of mine a long time ago. The ONLY reason we went back was for the recall issue. I should mention that the mechanic that I have service all my vehicles had just performed the yearly safety inspection for the state of VA on that 2007 Ion and we had discussed the serpentine belt (as part of the 75K maintenance) not needing replacement yet, but would be checked on subsequent oil changes for wear etc, hence the direction to do nothing but the recall work. I have complained before and obviously nothing has changed despite my hopes that the Ted Britt name might bring some changes to the service organization. More

Outstanding I brought my suburban in for a possible oil consumption issue. I worked with Chris Thomas, after the first level fix it was determined that the bigger, more invasive repair would be my best option. Chris explained what needed to be done (new pistons etc) and how long it would take. The technician Rob also spoke with me which made me understand the repair a bit more. They got me set up with a loaned that would work for my 3 kids and sent me on my way. I was originally told it would take a week but unfortunately thanksgiving fell during that week, which would delay some parts. Chris called me immediately and apologized, not that it was their fault. After the holiday they got the repair done very quickly. The service I received from these guys was the best experience I have ever had. I hope I don't need to see them for a bit other then routine care, but if I do I will not hesitate to go back. Great job..... More

Overall Good Experience with a Few Hiccups Ted Britt was overall great to work with. There were a few hiccups in the process that as a consumer I found frustrating (including have to argue wit Ted Britt was overall great to work with. There were a few hiccups in the process that as a consumer I found frustrating (including have to argue with a sales manager over the price of the car that I had agreed upon after their paper work did not reflect the appropriate price that was negotiated when getting ready to sign the paper work for the car). In spite of that frustration and the fact that I had to deal with multiple sales managers on the price of the car instead of just dealin g with one, Mas was great to work with, helpful, and took the time to answer my questions and ensure I was satisfied with my purchase. I wish the experience with senior management had been better, but Mas helped salvage the experience. I also appreciated the time and patience of finance represenative Donald Kim. More
