I would absolutely not purchase any vehicle from this dealership. I do understand the current state of the economy and global delays. I called to make an appointment with Sales Rep #1 to talk about avail dealership. I do understand the current state of the economy and global delays. I called to make an appointment with Sales Rep #1 to talk about availability/timing/etc. Arrive at appointment and he is not there. Sales Rep #2 talks to us, answers our questions and let's us know there is nothing available but will call/check-in. He emails a few weeks later that nothing is available. That same afternoon Sales Rep #1 calls and says there ARE some available. The next day we put money down for a 2022 Sienna (AWD/XLE) beginning of February knowing it should arrive late March. After hearing nothing from Sales Rep #1 I call mid-March to check on the status only to find out he no longer works there. Sales Rep #3 does not see the description of the car/our name anywhere. He continues to look/follow-up but doesn't see anything. I go into the dealership and ask to see the GM to find out what is going on. He never once comes out to see me. Sales Rep #4 tries to help, gives me a reason as to why we don't have a van yet (wether it is true or not we will never know) and offers me a Platium level trim, which was way more than we were originally wanting to spend. However, we were trading in and quoted (in writing!) a $15k trade in for our car. After Sales Rep #4 said he would honor the trade-in value we agreed to purchase the platium trim (Even with a $4k above MSRP total). Closing day arrives and it's listed at $5k above MSPR, the wrong financing (3.99% vs 2.99% which we were also verbally promised and qualify for), and only $5k for trade-in! It was all wrong and all lies. They did not honor the trade-in and said there was ANOTHER mix-up and we were given the wrong trade in value quote. After several discussions and barely any apologizes or consideration from the dealership we did purchase the van because we wanted this model and do understand global supply chain. However, we feel like we were completely taken advantage of and mistake after mistake was made with nothing but a "Whoops, so and so before you made these mistakes". Good luck and double and triple check your pricing prior to closing! More
I have been an avid supporter of Baierl Toyota till a recent experience of basically feeling misled and manipulated regarding their assessment of my trade-in. * In November 2021 I received a postcard f recent experience of basically feeling misled and manipulated regarding their assessment of my trade-in. * In November 2021 I received a postcard from them offering $1000 over the assessed trade-in value of my 2016 Avalon hybrid. In December 2021 I went to Baierl to start the process of looking at a new Avalon hybrid. They did not have it in the color I wanted, so we started the process of looking elsewhere, with me putting down a $500 deposit to ensure the process. *I was told by them eventually that Toyota is discontinuing the Avalon in 2022, so availability would be limited. So I decided to downgrade to a Camry hybrid. After 3 months they found one being built in the color I wanted. We put in a claim for it. *In mid-march I brought my car in for a trade-in evaluation. They offered $16,000. When I told them I had the postcard for $1000 over that, they said that it had expired on 2/28/22 and there was nothing they could do about it--maybe give me $500 more. *I then looked at the trade-in values at Consumer Reports and Kelly Blue book, where the value at both was between $19,000 and $22,000. When i brought that up to Baierl, they said those values can't be trusted and that I had to use the NADA (National Auto Dealers Association) trade-in value. We did, and it said that the trade-in value was around $21,000. * I then went to one of the new, large used car dealers, and they offered $20,000. *I went to Baierl to talk with the sales guy. I was pretty upset. I never yelled or got angry, but I did say, "This isn't right!" a number of times fairly loudly. The sales manager came out, grabbed my deposit check out of the sales guy's hand, handed it to me, and said, "Our business is concluded. Take your check and leave." While walking out, I said again that this wasn't right, and he reasserted that I can't take Consumer Reports and Kelly Blue Book as right, and then he complained to me that the sales guy had spent a lot of time looking for my car, that this was wasted time for them, and it was my fault for reneging on a fair deal. *Not sure what I'm going to do not, but I won't go back to Baierl ever for a car. If you do, definitely benchmark the trade in values of your car and get them to explain why their low-balling is a fair offer. So, even the by the metric they use their offer to was $5000 lower, AND they wouldn't honor a $1000 trade-in coupon because it had expired by 2 weeks, even though the process was started three months earlier. If you go to Baierl, do your homework and benchmark the trade-in value of your car before they assess it. I'm still upset because I love toyota hybrids, but don't trust Baierl. More
Prior to writing this review, I reached out to Daniel via the Baierl contact page. I saw his responses to a number of poor reviews on Google and wanted to give him the opportunity to address my concerns. Aft the Baierl contact page. I saw his responses to a number of poor reviews on Google and wanted to give him the opportunity to address my concerns. After two weeks of not receiving a response, it became clear that there is no value in the platitudes he leaves online. A couple of months ago I purchased a Prius for my daughter. It was a good experience. Now, we were in the market for an electric vehicle for ourselves and again considered Baierl Toyota as I like to show loyalty when treated well. Before moving to PA I purchased 7 cars in a 5 year period from the same guy/dealer because of that loyalty. After researching my options, I decided on a Tesla Model 3. I found quite a few on Carvana as well as one at Baierl Toyota. I decided to do the deal locally given my past experience. This time my experience was less than acceptable. There seemed to be no desire to work with me. I was offered $120 off of the asking price if I would finance through the dealership at an interest rate more than 4 points higher than my bank. When I challenged that I was offered the same rate as my bank. I decided to not bother with the $120 as my time and credit are worth more than that. Then I was told I would need to come back the next day as they wouldn't be able to cash me out even though I rearranged my schedule to accommodate a "smooth sales process" as promised by Tommy N. When we returned the next day the finance guy started out with a chip on his shoulder. His demeanor was aggressive. After we signed the mileage/odometer statement, he changed the mileage on the form. When I questioned his actions he got even more aggressive and told me not to worry about it and that they do it all the time. He said all the documents we were signing we meaningless and you could "wipe your xxx with them." While they may not be legal documents, if I can wipe with them, I'd rather not be bothered with having to sign them. I suggested he get his attitude in check or find us someone else to work with. He was able to change course and by the end of the deal was much friendlier. The next day I discovered two things. The first was that there wasn't a heated steering wheel as advertised on the website and there was a cable hanging down in the left front wheel well. I reached out to Joe McMahon, as he sent me an email saying he would always be available if I needed him. I also reached out to Tommy. I followed up later in the day with a phone call to Tommy and after not hearing back, texted him. I did finally receive a response from Tommy telling me to take my concerns to the Tesla dealer as it was still under warranty. In addition to all of this, the CarFax shows that Bariel Toyota performed an oil and filter change as part of the intake process. That is simply not possible on an electric vehicle. Based on my past experience I have lost any sense of confidence in Baierl Toyota. As such, when I go to purchase my plug-in hybrid in the next 2 months, Baierl Toyota will not be in consideration for my business. Do better folks! More
