He was thorough, knowledgeable, and took the time to help me understand both the process and the logistics, all while minimizing the inherent overwhelm that comes with buying a car. I truly appreciate his guidance and support and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and patient car-buying experience. I also want to acknowledge Mario Gentry, Sales Manager, for his collaboration and kindness while finalizing my purchase. And thank you to Marcus in the Finance Department for being so friendly and helpful while completing all the required documents quickly and efficiently. I also have to give a special shout-out to Luis Tinoco, my Service Advisor at Volkswagen of Downtown Chicago. I’ve had a VW for the past 13 years, and Luis has ALWAYS provided exceptional service. His knowledge, responsiveness, and commitment to taking care of his customers have made such a lasting impression. He is honestly a big part of the reason I didn’t spend time looking at other makes when it came time to purchase my new car. When you have someone you trust to take care of you after the sale, it makes staying with the brand an easy decision. Luis is the best!! The car purchase was paid off in full with a single check...... This Sales Manager called my personal cell phone and threatened me. I also want to note that picking up the car on this day was mad check...... This Sales Manager called my personal cell phone and threatened me. I also want to note that picking up the car on this day was made extremely difficult because a family member of mine had a serious stroke that morning. MARIO was notified of this and did acknowledge it. IT DID NOT CHANGE HIS BEHAVIOR. I have written proof of terms of sale and an agreement for payment in full on a specified date. When asked if the date was acceptable to them, the response I got was "perfect". That is not just "acceptable" that is "perfect". About 1 hour later I received a call from an irate sales manager known as Mario Gentry. He said that he did not like the agreed upon date anymore and he was refusing to honor it. BAD BUSINESS! He then proceeded to say "you are going to get me that check tomorrow or else". I asked him "or else what?" and he proceeded to explain to me that he was going to send men to my home to collect the money from me by whatever means. THAT IS A THREAT. Aside from Marios egregious behavior on the phone which i did not amuse, the entire sales process was terrible at the downtown location. The car I bought was never washed. I showed up at 10am and at 6:45pm I drove away from the dealership. I have multiple texts saying the car needed to get washed, but clearly they refused. I am blown away by the lack of professionalism all around at this dealership. I highly suggest upper management contacts me because if you don't, you clearly do not care about the safety, well being, or experience of your customers. Oh and I expect a hand written apology from Mario. Something detailed. I also can't imagine how you could ever continue to employ someone like Mario at any Volkswagen or related enterprise. Looking forward to a response to this. More
