Issa was very accommodating to my specific asks and worked with me to get a vehicle that had as many of the specifics he could find without ordering a custom built vehicle. My daughter purchased a vehicle from Suburban Toyota in July 2023. Their salesman Nicholas Rowe committed fraud by adding a warranty to the sales contract for $3400 that we did not discuss. They agreed to July 2023. Their salesman Nicholas Rowe committed fraud by adding a warranty to the sales contract for $3400 that we did not discuss. They agreed to cancel and refund the warranty, which should be done in 30 days. It is now several months later, and still no refund to my credit union. Other issues involved an engine light they said was an 02 sensor, but was truly a catalytic converter issue. We will be filing a complaint with the State of Michigan under the Right to Repair Act for that issue. We are eight months later and we are still waiting for the Toyota warranty refund. More

Dear Manager, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from your dealership. On Thursday, I saw a used Corolla that I liked and I paid an advance to hold the ca dissatisfaction with the service I received from your dealership. On Thursday, I saw a used Corolla that I liked and I paid an advance to hold the car (was not informed about 48 hours hold). I informed your staff that I would come on Saturday to finalize the purchase. I also called on Friday to confirm my appointment for Saturday. However, when I arrived at your dealership on Saturday, I had to wait for two hours for your employees to bring the car and process the paperwork. I had brought my friend who had taken a day off from his work to assist me with the transaction. To my dismay, your employees told me that the car was sold and they tried to call me at 11:15 am (when I was on my way to the showroom).But in 10 minutes when I showed up ,they forgot about the car they just sold and made wait for two hours.. I find this unacceptable and unprofessional. Your employee agreed to hold the car for me when I paid the advance, and he should have honored that commitment. He should have also informed me earlier if the car was no longer available at least when I arrived. As a result of this incident, I and my friend wasted our time and money, my friend lost his overtime pay, and I am paying interest for a car loan that I did not use. I am very unhappy and frustrated by this experience. I tried to be a better person and calmed my friend to not make an issue before other customers who could be first time car buyers like me and spoil their car buying experience like you did to me. I wonder if you would have addressed the issue if I had raised my voice and interrupted the sales. You know what I expected from your side? Original review: At first we were feeling as though the entire buying a used car process was running very smoothly. However within less than 24 hours of purchase we noticed a severe oversight in the full maintenance/servicing that we were told was performed on our vehicle prior to purchase. We called Malik who had helped us purchase the vehicle, only to be told we would hear back by the end of the day once he had spoken to his manager. We never heard back and have since been repeatedly sent straight to voicemail. We have tried calling the dealership only to either get sent to a different voicemail or get a run around of having to go through Malik. We can’t even get through to the dealership to obtain the title that was inappropriately not provided to us upon purchase!! Honestly we have been so displeased with the service and attention to detail and could not commend buying a car from this dealership. Edit 11/1/2023: After continuing to try to get into contact with the dealership, I was finally able to reach the manager, Abdul, who helped us to resolve the issue in a timely manner. He was respectful and I could tell was attempting to improve upon my experience at this dealership. We ended up getting the initial issue taken care of and appreciate the efforts of the service team. Overall rating for experience: 3. Ultimately, the difficulty getting in touch with them once the car had been sold and repeated calls that were ignored made me feel as though this dealership is truly about the sale and not about the customer/developing loyalty. Service dept: 4 stars. During the repair process, they did leave me waiting to hear about the status of the repair for over 3 hours in their waiting room, despite knowing it was not going to be done same day. But they were very polite and they did a good job. They also set me up with a car while the vehicle was being repaired. Responsiveness/communication: 2 stars. After Abdul was able to help us with our issue we did not need to contact them anymore, but we were satisfied once we were able to actually get through to someone. We were otherwise later told that we were given incorrect information by the financing specialist, which really makes me concerned about the reliability of the information we were being given, which goes into the rating here. Malik: At the time of writing this review (over a month since buying our car from Malik) and having to go through the headache noted above, we have still not heard a single word, text, or call from Malik. Initial interaction with Nicholas Rowe in the office was fine, what would earned him honestly 0 stars in my book was all the shady things that happened after the deal was closed. - I had a preapproval fr fine, what would earned him honestly 0 stars in my book was all the shady things that happened after the deal was closed. - I had a preapproval from chase which I was told by a sales consultant Malik Green would be fine to use for the terms of financing. They not only didn't use my preapproval, but they didn't even go through chase at all they went through a different financing office altogether without a word to me. -Added a $3,400 wheels and tire package without informing me about it until later -Didn't add my $500 trade in to the contract as discussed and had to go through the finance manger Abdul Levy to get the check cut to me. -While he got me a lower interest rate it extended the contract an additional year which was not communicated to me clearly. Had I been aware of this I wouldn't have agreed to the contract. -When I discovered all of these issues and tried to reach out to him there was radio silence for multiple weeks until I went above him again. Even after this point he never resolved many of the issues I was having and was still very difficult to get in contact with. Lesson here is that he talks a good game but he does not follow through on his word. If you work with him make sure you get a physical copy of the contract so that you can verify what you talked about is actually what he did. I also want it to be clear that he wasn't the only one I delt with that had poor communication or didn't follow through on what was discussed. It even got to the point where I had to get an attorney to pressure them into providing services I was assured they would give me. My experience with suburban toyota was a nightmare and I would strongly advise against working with them especially if purchasing a used car. **Update** 11/3/2023 After I posted my negative experience with the dealership, Abdul Levy Reached out to me personally to see how we could resolve my grievances. While communication could use significant improvement, he was immensely helpful in solving the issues with contracts and compensation for having to come out of pocket to fix the vehicle. If you go through Toyota and are having problems, I recommend asking for Abdul, as he was the only one who could get things done in a reasonable amount of time. While I still wouldn't recommend going through them for used cars I appreciate that they care for their reputation and try to make amends where possible. ** 2nd Update ** 12/16/2023 Since the first update, where I thought Abdul Levy rectified everything, I learned this was not the case. I wanted both warranties I got through this dealership canceled, and in that first update, I was under the impression they canceled only one of them. It has now come to my attention that neither warranty had been canceled at that point, as my card was overdrawn by the one I thought was canceled before the first update. It’s been charging my account this entire time, and because I had approved it initially, it was never flagged for me until I had insufficient funds. This is my first time buying a car, and this process has genuinely frightened me from purchasing through even the supposed "highly rated" dealerships. The negligence and apathy toward their mistakes that have been having detrimental impacts on my life MONTHS after my purchase is sick, and I sincerely regret ever coming into contact with them. If, for some reason, you still decide to risk working with them, please get EVERYTHING, including promised resolutions to problems, in writing and double-check all of the details they've verbally discussed so you don't end up where I did. Good luck to everyone trying to work with these people, and I sincerely hope you never experience the issues I had with them. 3rd Update 3/24/24: Still haven't had canceled warranties applied to principal balance several months later. please be careful with these people.
