Although we got a fair deal in the end the salesman was frustrating. His communication style was annoying. It was hard to get him to stop the happy talk and listen. We filled out the purchase offer on line but he did not seem to have read it. So we had to repeat our basic demographics. At one point in the negotiations he stood up and shook my hand and my wife’s hand and left us giving the impression he was saying good bye. We were about to leave when he came back with an offer that we accepted. We filled out the purchase paperwork and indicated we were paying cash. Next the staff member who put the final paperwork together came in and tried to convince us to take out a loan. Then he tried to sell us an extended warranty and weatherproofing. More frustration. When we came back to pick up the car we were not given the LoJack owners manual and information on the other dealer add on features. Also, as the sales man was trying to sync my phone to the car it became obvious that close to a dozen other people had synced their devices to this car. Another staff person came in to help sync the phone. That person indicated that they had been having trouble keeping the battery charged on this car. As we drove away I noticed on the car’s display that there was close to 400 miles on the vehicle already. Nobody told us about the mileage. We were beginning to feel like we bought a used car. A few days latter the battery was dead. It read 11.5 on my multimeter. It was towed back to Nye by Toyota Care’s representative. The service department found the battery had several faults and replaced it. One frustration after another! More
