Joseph VW replaced the timing chain and tensioner along with the camshaft seal on my VW eos. I much appreciated the repair explanation from the service department and that the repair held to quoted price. with the camshaft seal on my VW eos. I much appreciated the repair explanation from the service department and that the repair held to quoted price. To my delight, the car actually runs smoother and faster. Thanks service department and technicians! More

Took my car to Joseph to correct a leak from the rear main seal and driving noise at ~20mph. The work was expanded to include resealing the camshaft cover and replace front wheel bearing to correct the main seal and driving noise at ~20mph. The work was expanded to include resealing the camshaft cover and replace front wheel bearing to correct the noise. I agreed to a cost increased from 1800 original estimate to over 4k, i wanted everything fixed. When I picked up the car, I noticed no change to the driving noise and a week later, the rear main seal had resumed leaking. I returned the car to Joseph and a couple days was told that they couldn't repair the leak because the "crankshaft was walking" Apparently, too much axial play in the crankshaft causing oil to pass through seal and that next step was to replace the engine. I left the dealer thinking I needed to replace the car. Happy ending, independent found the cause of the leak - engine was overserviced with oil. Have not been able to confirm excess axial play in the crankshaft. Corrected oil level and a long road trip and the car is leak free and running fine. Based on my poor experience, I will not return to this dealership and cannot recommend them. More
