I want to apologize about your misunderstanding of the situation. We definitely NEVER damage a clients vehicle to have you use your warranty. That is silly to even propose. The coverage company, Ameriplus, chose to cover what they want to cover. We submit the claim with all supporting evidence for them to review. If it was outside influence due to physical damage they would not cover it. Now I understand that you may be upset that the car left on both occasions with a knocking sound to the engine that you chose to not repair and was obviously declined by the coverage company. I can supply both invoices that you signed stating that you are aware that the engine still has issues with knocking but you declined to repair. It sounds like there is rod knock from the number 4 cylinder and so If you choose to pass on it and the coverage does as well I cant proceed in fixing it. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

I took my car in for a warranty repair and it came back
with a scratch on the steering wheel which the service center refuses to fix. The repair took weeks and tons of my leg work.

Immediately after the repair I noticed a scratch in leather on the steering wheel which was in close proximity to the repair. I immediately notified the service center. They asked for pictures then said they would 'make it right'. They had a leather repair person refinish the wheel. This got black gunk all over the the wheel, including non-leather surfaces. In addition, the scratch was not fixed. I notified them, they asked for pictures, I sent, they said they would 'make it right'. They cleaned the black gunk off but refused to replace the steering wheel ($600) to resolve the scratch. They claimed it wasn't them that caused the scratch. This process took months.
The service intake process includes taking photos of the vehicle exterior. I asked to see these pictures, hoping to maybe see the scratch area through the window. After numerous attempts, the photos have been sent. I have no proof they caused the scratch but it's the only blemish on the entire interior and I've noticed smaller food or snot related blemishes on the wheel many times which were all easy to remove - so it's not like I don't notice these things quickly. Of the 25 years I've been driving, I've never had a scratch in my steering wheel like this.
If they never intended to resolve the wheel, why waste all my time with the runaround with repeated unanswered calls, texts, and why ask for all the photos?
Since the repair, they have solicited a dealer review many times despite knowing all of the above.
Considering the mistakes made during the actual repair, the scratch, the runaround, the refusal to repair or provide what little evidence they have, and the pestering for a review, one start seems warranted.

As we have discussed, The steering wheel scratch is in an area commonly touched to steer the car. Where your hand would rest when cruising along. While I wish that it was possible to photo document EVERY part of the car that is unfortunately not possible. We did make an extension of goodwill to get the scratch treated but it is silly to think that we should replace your entire steering wheel over a quarter inch scratch that could have happened in any of the 1813 days from when you bought the car to the time the car was picked back up. Also to work on the door speaker the door has to be open. No where near the steering wheel. I am sorry for how you feel about the situation but we did attempt to rectify it reasonably.

problem in a manner which I understood. Made me feel more comfortable with the work. Thanks for your time and patience.
