My Hyundai Kona with 22,200 miles had a transmission break down leaving us in west TX. My car was towed to Lithia Hyundai of Odessa by Hyundai under warranty. Initially I was told it would be a few days break down leaving us in west TX. My car was towed to Lithia Hyundai of Odessa by Hyundai under warranty. Initially I was told it would be a few days before they could look at my vehicle. Every time I called I got a different timeline for when they could look at my car. It was over 3 weeks before they even diagnosed the problem. I understand this is a remote dealership, but the service department never gave me a realistic timeline. Once I finally got to speak with Eric Gonzales, my service advisor, he gave me a practical estimation of the timeline. I think Eric was good with communication and he responded quickly, but the run around I received from the service desk was unreliable and poor communication. It took 2 months for the repairs to be completed. It took me 6 weeks for Hyundai to agree to reimburse me for a 3rd party rental car. That is more of a problem with Hyundai customer care than this dealership, but they were not giving me or my case manager a realistic timeline for the repairs, which delayed Hyundai case manager from approving a rental car. We had a cooler in the car with food in it. I called after my car had been there for 1 day and asked the service department to empty the cooler and just throw away anything inside except the ice packs. It was very hot in TX and I didn’t want the food sitting in there. The person I spoke to said of course they would do that and she would make a note. I got my car back today and the inside smelled like rotten food because no one had emptied the cooler. I don’t blame Eric, my service advisor. Each time I spoke with him, he was pilot and gave me a timeline. The people I spoke with on the phone with the service department gave me entirely different information. For that, it made the process of not having my car a lot more difficult. I feel like if they were honest and told me at the onset it would be weeks before they could even diagnose the problem, then Hyundai would have approved a rental car much sooner. More

Took too long and the customer service was lacking, looked like the guy didn't wanna be there, and they even forgot to reset the oil in the cluster.
